I wonder how much that will mess up the narrative. Watching a streamer. And it really is designed for the timer. instead of hard coding it so, doing one thing, causes the other missions to fail. it uses this timer system.

if the game is intended to have a strong focus on narrative, time sensitivity makes sense. forcing players to makee choices with real effects. having time pass when leveling up seems like a terrible design choice. like Oblivions, and any of those other games where you intentionally stay level...
