Breeding pals and building your base is the core gameplay mechanic of Palworld, if it's not interesting, it's probably not worth continuing.

Like a lot of things you flip from being bottlenecked by cores to them being useless trash super quick. This is my haul from my expedition today, those 25 cores will never get used for anything.
