    Borderlands 4

I do enjoy getting Legendary class mods that prompt you to completely change your whole dynamic. I could look up a 'build' but it's fun working out the synergies for myself using whatever I have in the bank.

    Borderlands 4

I've been playing Amon and I don't think I'm playing him correctly. Started out with the shield spec but then switched over to the double thrown axe but neither is really gelling for me. Certainly not compared to using Rafa or Harlowe

    Borderlands 4

Yeah this is one of the big changes they made. Heavy Weapons and Grenades are both 'Ordinance' and both are affected by whatever modifies Ordinance.

    Borderlands 4

Finally got to the second zone and the side quest with Claptrap's stuff was actually well done. I get why they made this "Borderlands 4" after the failure of many alt-titled games and movies, but this feels like it should have legitimately been "Borderlands : Kairos"

Lee Pace ain't going nowhere. Dunno what exactly what they will do for season 4, but you don't just bench your star player. Well unless yer Altered Carbon and look what happened there 😳

    Borderlands 4

Yeah I let the Nvidia optimize the game and went up to ~230 ish. Still in the first zone and the weather effects + day/night cycle really makes the game pop. Got a legendary weapon from a random boss encounter and it's genuinely legendary worthy with a suitably funky effect. So far I think...

    Borderlands 4

I've been waiting for my buddy to progress further in the game and so have played all four hunters to ~level 10 in the first 'zone'. There is an impressive amount of content including periodically changing missions, random spawning mini bosses, side quests and the like. It definitely has a...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines sequel? Remake?

Two out of six clans are relegated to the DLC? No Malkavians or Nosferatu at all? Get fucked.

    Titan Quest 2

Picked this up and it's very solid. Unfortunately it really only has 'Act 1' in the game at this point which takes you up to ~level 20. Has some rough points but I had a lot of fun with it.

    Borderlands 4

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was great fun so I have high hopes for BL4. It may suck, but Borderlands has always been able to scratch my FPS itch in a way that traditional shooters can't so whatever.

    Superman: Legacy (2025)

Superman 2,3,4 go through the first half of the 80s. Superfriends are on from mid 70s to late 80s. WB Superman the Animated Series in the 90s, Lois and Clark, Superboy, Smallville, Justice League, Legion of Superheroes animated series... Hell even reruns of the 50s version were in syndication...

    The Alters

Since it was on Game Pass I fired this up... and finished it this weekend. Given the nature of the game I have already started a second play through to explore all the stuff I didn't get a chance to do in the first time round. Game is very tied into emotions and the idea of self and men's...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

I am genuinely surprised that Best Buy lives on. Who the heck is shopping there now that they got rid of DVDs and such? How many TVs do you need and why wouldn't you just go to Costco?

    Doctor Who

It's just Billie Piper as a placeholder or Bad Wolf / The Moment shenanigans. It's actually quite smart since if there IS a hiatus at this point you know Billie Piper will always be game to come back and do a special to regenerate into whoever the proper 16th/17th Doctor is.

Its especially nice that I also like that the little 'cut scenes' do not take themselves too seriously.

    Monster train

I quite like the new layering of synergies. Also the cameo appearances of characters from other Indy titles is very cute plus a great way to drive some more people towards other good rouge likes. Thus far I've had my best runs with a combo of Shrooms/Mad Scientists.

DaggerHeart - the new TTRPG system by Critical Role

It has a lot of genuinely nifty game concepts. One of the more intriguing is the idea of "spotlight" rather than a strict initiative system. Basically that people take actions as part of an encounter narrative rather than because it's their turn in the turn order. I could see this being very...

    Slormancer - Early Access ARPG

I mean you are fighting against the evil overlord Ohm Agad. How could you not be fully invested?!? (I love a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, especially when it's actually put together very well)

Watching Rogue One right afterwards and my god... the continuity elements that I didn't recognize in the series that are there is nearly without flaw. The members of the Rebellion Council, all of it ties in amazingly well. If Jimmy Smits had been able to reprise Bail Organa it would be a...

I fully realize this may be the LAST good Star Wars we get for some time. Tony Gilroy had to fight tooth and nail to get the $$ to finish the story in season 2. I would hope the quality of the end product would get Disney to commit more to serious storytelling... but that doesn't seem to be...

    Drop Duchy

It's basically what would happen if Tetris and Carcassonne had a bastard child who was a roguelike. The basic concept is slick enough and itches the 'planning' part of my brain, but the way in which the game opens up with added buildings and such is very clever.

    Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Square Enix should be embarrassed by this game. It does what they used to be able to do before they went off the deep end. Its gorgeous and it has a story that I was not prepared for in terms of how I felt personally attacked (in a good way...) by the overarching theme.

    Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The key to Verso for me is using the dual-attack blade that lets you take another action right after a base attack. So you base attack (with all the +base lumina active including the defenseless after base attack and the +AP for hitting defenseless) and you end up with 7-9 AP for your second...

    Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Where the fuck did this come from?!? Absolutely no 'Basil Exposition' and you have to figure out everything via context in a good way. It has lots of 'systems' without being confusing and a top notch story. I didn't even have this on my RADAR and now it's a GOTY contender for sure.

    Void Crew (co-op space roguelike)

I stumbled onto this game last year and after doing the tutorial realized that I needed to play this with real life buddies. This game has seriously good 'bones' and is amazingly fun as a co-op game. There's a lot to do to keep the ship going and good communication is essential. This is a...

It's all billed as backwards compatible with 5e, but there is more changed from 5e to 5.24e than was changed from 3 to 3.5. Most classes have huge changes to their core mechanic in ways that make them simply incompatible with the previous version. They are doing videos for each class, one a day:

    Doctor Who

I really enjoyed the first part of the season, even the Doctor-lite episodes. The finale though...what a train wreck. I get what RTD was trying to do and he even quotes The Last Jedi and Rey being 'nobody' as an influence for the whole arc, but looking back at the earlier parts of the...

    Pax Dei

It's very unpolished. I was intrigued by the notion of mystery and interconnectedness, but in reality it's just a bunch of people grinding trade skills or gang/rushing monsters using one of the worst combat systems I've seen. When a wolf chased me while I was wearing some threadbare clothes it...
