Nope. 60Hz still. I am likely to get a higher refresh rate monitor during the life of my next card though, so a 3070 might not be totally crazy.

My gtx 970 is definitely starting to struggle even at 1080p. I was (naively) hoping to avoid a n Gotcha. Is that still true for 1080p gaming? I doubt can justify a new monitor on top of a gpu uprade and/or new build. I guess I'll see what the upgrade landscape looks like after the new AMD...

Any idea how bottlenecked I would be with a 6600k on a Z170 motherboard if I installed a 3070?

I cannot use the 970 until the 3000 series comes out and I upgrade. I can't wait for that to do the build, as a replacement is needed for work before then.

I'm trying to keep the budget at around $800. Like I said, I can pass on my old 970gtx once the 3000 series is released, so I'm trying to avoid buying a vid card now. Particularly since the system is going to be used for MS Word, Zoom meetings, and Youtube.
