I think what I'm hearing from a lot of people is that there is tedium built into the game, but also gameplay elements that mitigate that tedium and as you learn2play it really isn't as bad as first assumed.

What do they need to "come out and say"? They need to include every game mechanic in their FAQ? They do "come out and say" in the literal thousands of hours of livestreams and very responsive Discord. If you want an answer, go ask a question.

I'm assuming the norm is going to be people will set up encampments outside of dungeons that have supplies such as backup CR gear and spell books. I don't really understand why that's such a hassle.

Created a rogue. Took a couple hours of grinding to get level 3. There were tons of groups killing stuff. I got to go into the first dungeon, Wyrmsbane. Killed a bunch of skeletons and got level 4. Full set of cloth & rawhide. My little halfling looks awesome. This is what I've been wanting.
