You're assuming people are even getting to the game and not dismissing it out of hand. I think you'd be mistaken.
There is a big disconnect between character (pc and npc) models and the environment.
I wouldn't place much value in how the game is talked about in another games chat. Its almost always negative because it's either a different genre that the players don't care for or it's the same genre and they don't want a competitor to fragment their community.
Its thinking like this that breeds a lot of dead games.
You don't need to do an analysis on whether this meets the needs of the market. You can observe historical attempts to do something similar and watch how they all failed. What is materially different with this?
Non-factor, it's just a popup that comes up when you launch it from steam. Some of their older games is where it's fucked and requires you to login every time you reset your pc or exit the launcher.
