    Agreed with this. Oblivion was a more dumbed down Morrowind with quest markers, easier fast travel and less ridiculous combat system. Skyrim didn't really dumb things down further.

    Morrowind has fast travel in the form of silt striders that port you around the map, it's totally fine.

    Back in the day I used a mod that made the hardest mode basically 10x all damage without increasing mob HP. It made it so enemies could one shot you, and if you tried hard, you could 3ish shot them. It was a lot of fun since damage is largely avoidable if you have a lot of speed.

    But seriously I'm traveling right now wishing i was using my time off more wisely by doing my fifth playthrough of this garbage. Oblivion is also a really good game to play in hardcore mode and ignore all the quests and just survive.
