Seriously, how the fuck do you have a comedian poll with only 2 comedians?

No mention of Stanhope, Joey Diaz, Hannibal Buress, Tom Segura, Lewis Black, etc etc. I mean fuk.
This is a smart man but if I had to choose between the two, I'd take Bill Burr. Totally forgot about that Philly rant and how God damn awesome it was.

CK for stand up, Burr for off the cuff rambling. Louie's written material is honed to perfection for his yearly special, then discarded. But just to give one of them any random topic and let them go, Bill Burr. He'll have a strong opinion on it after talking for a bit and by the end will be hilarious whether you agree or not. Could really just listen to him rant on almost anything and be entertained.

CK's TV show is waaay better than Burr's cartoon, but they are both amazing stand-up acts. Pretty much in the same league there.

Like I said, it triggers me. If an American wants to talk about gun control in America, go for it, but I don't need to hear lectures from somebody who moved here because it's better than where they came from.
Maybe you (and a lot of other people) do. There are a lot of topics in which America could use some lessons.

2 very different shows, both tv shows are not nearly as epic as their stand up or interviews to me and are very hit or miss. I actually find CK funnier on other movies and shows than I do on Louie. His part in American Hustle with Cooper was maybe the best part of that movie, also the fact that cooper completely proved CK wrong in real life made it even better

Louie seems to be losing a step lately. The last time I saw him, he was funny, but is getting a bit too jaded and cranky. I know that was kind of always his schtick, but he's lost a bit of the lightheartedness. Burr on the other hand is only getting better. I've seen him three times now and each time is an improvement. Gotta give it to ol' Billy Redface

I didn't even know this thread existed, and I've seen both Bill and Louie live quite a few times. Ultimately, I give it to Louie. Mainly because his material is more relateable to me than Bill's. And most of that is the parent perspective. Bill comes close with his jokes about Chloe, his Pitbull (I also have a pit), but the overall father approach of Louie takes the prize. Both are really fucking funny, though.

Patrice Oneal was my favorite though. He was prolific, and I'm glad I got to see him easily 2 dozen times before he died.

EDIT: Oh, I was at the Tweeter Center for the Opie & Anthony Traveling Virus show that launched Bill's massive popularity. Unfortunately, I was drunk and mostly passed out when he was on stage, so I don't remember much of it. Fortunately, someone made a video.

I prefer Bill Burr by a long shot, but yeah his netflix cartoon needed teeth. Plus Louis CK was phenomenal in Trumbo.

Forgot about Patrice O'Neal. Elephant in the room (I think it's called?) Was really good.

Here's his set from Atlantic City a year or two before he died (Before the Charlie Sheen roast that made him popular to the masses)

You'll have to watch the rest on your own. Part 1 is Robert Kelly, part's 2 through 10 is the entire Patrice set.

Since i saw this poll, i started watching YT videos of both and bill burr is , by far, funnier.
Louis CK early shows were good but the guy is getting worse throughout the years. Burr, on the other hand, was always funny.
Both are cunts imo

But i still think the best was George Carlin.

I had no idea Louis CK even released a special in 2015. I just watched it. That's now two straight specials that are less funny than the one before it. He's definitely losing his edge.

I feel like the more TV and movie work they do, the more their stand up falls off, but I guess it's to be expected. Same thing happened with Schumer. The last time I saw her this past summer, she was still doing material I saw her do 3 years ago. Let's hope the same doesn't happen to ol' Billy Fuck Face
