Cautiously pesimistic. What is there to add to this story? Even expanding the story that has already been told (like showing the many failed attempts at going past the farm house and the toll it takes on Cruise's character) would probably not work.
If you revert the roles from the manga, you can have a really good plotline.
It will end with a death match between them, where one has to die in order to break the loop.

They should just do the manga ending.
In the movie was she a badass because of the loop? Did she know about the loop?
Emily Blunt? Yes, she told tom what was going on and when it would stop.

It's not what they'll do but what you could do would be to make a sequel from the perspective of Emily Blunt's character that begins after she regains her powers in the final part of the last film. You spend maybe the first third of the movie on that and then you go forward with the fallout of the reset. We mostly stick with her, things are looking fine, BUT WAIT, something alien action stuff.

First one was quite good. I don't know that there's anything to add. It'll probably just be the last twenty minutes of the first one extended into ninety.

Which will not be as good as the first, but I'm sure it'll be a good action movie.

i will accept that only if she resets back to a nude scene. Preferably some sort of nude yoga, but a shower or sex scene would be fine too.

They're pushing it. The first one was a technical flop at the box office. Emily Blunt hasn't done anything serious since Sicario in (2015) which was a VERY tepid success despite rave reviews by critics. Well ok that isn't fair, I suppose The Girl on the Train (2016) did prove Emily Blunt can still carry a big budget picture by herself.

But it still feels a bit like Tom just doing a favor for a friend of a friend after getting a late-afternoon phone call? "yeah lets fire up another one. fuck it im huge man, ive never had a box office flop in 30 years"

maybe a smaller budget this go around is the only thing I can guess is giving this legs... but still....

'Edge of Tomorrow' disappoints, highlights Warner's risky summer

Pretty much everyone loved the first one, but they watched at home instead of theaters because it just didn't get much buzz in the theater run. I think if they pick a good release date (maybe counter program a comic book movie) and release a good trailer it will attract a lot of fans into theaters.

This sounds like a prequel, probably just to focus on "Full Metal Bitch", which is great cuz i don't think ppl who even watched this movie and liked it, even gave a shit about Cruise.

The first one wrapped up things nicely. Not sure a prequel would hold much appeal since you know what happens and it would be too much of a retread of the 1st film.

Maybe Disney will buy the rights to make a theme park and/or ride out of it? Could be their big chance. lol

Yes, I can see it now. A person stands in line for 30+ minutes and then, you reset back to the beginning of the line. The idea is to try and figure out how to get out of the insane loop without spending a fortune.
