Who was it that first made that thread 'this will turn it around for vanguard'? He wasn't a frequent poster but he must always be remembered, that meme lasted for years and spread out of our forum

Are you guys going to release a server pack once you are done, so that people can make their own servers with their own rulesets? Or are you just going to make your own server?

Yes there will be repacks and the worldserver source will be open to anyone once we get to a good place in development.

I miss the game which hurts a bit, but the thing that makes my blood boil is that I bought a lot of Station Cash in the months before it shut down. Vanguard is the only SOE game I would want to play so that cash is now worthless. When the game first went f2p I bought maybe $50 USD or so at that point. But then there was a double cash weekend or something so I got another $40 ish to use in the future sometime. Then the development started picking up on the game and they LIED and said there was a new dev team and things were going to start happening and I started seeing all these new devs logging in and talking about what they were working on. Then Christmas happened and there was a huge deal for I think triple cash, so I spent another $40 which turned into a huge amount of cash and I figured one big chunk would be good value in the long term as I would never need to spend anything again. Then the game closed... It's not that $130 ish is a big loss to me but it is the principle that annoys me, they lied and bullshitted about all their plans for the game, and did all those station cash deals and added huge amounts of new stuff to the game's shop just weeks before it was announced it would close. To me that is criminal, they mislead people to spend and then closed the game. I prayed EQN would turn into something good so I would at least have something to spend all that cash on... I still want Smedley's blood for this. Never forget.

I really hope your not going to leave most of the game settings the same from the sunset version. A LOT of things were changed & dumbed down mainly to get new players to the end game as quickly as possible since most low to mid level group areas were ghost towns. But a ton of people are going to want to play this emu which means most content will be skipped over if u leave it as is. Just a few examples:

- many of the early dungeons mobs were changed from 3-4 dot to 2-3 dot to make them soloable
- 90% of the dungeons from lvl 1-40 will be skipped due to questlines that gave much better gear for mostly soloing (HRT for instance)
- lvl 55 cap made all lvl 50 content a joke (Rhaz Inkur, ToT, NN, etc)
- APW was much easier with with lvl cap increase
- most of the lvl 55 content was extremely repetitive and banal due to there being only a handful of devs that worked on it

If you don't change some of this the game will not be interesting enough to play in the long term. Pantheon quest grinding and SoD grinding was literally the worst thing in the game since it was mostly outdoor camping in the same spots for hours as opposed to dungeon-crawling.

there was that planned AA that never went in. wasnt the outline of it datamined or released in some form?
lots of stuff that could be changed for the better.
the game is too big. i'd have it so that aa would return less as you kill more mobs of the same type.. forcing you to go to diff dungeons. and, aa can be obtained at lo lvls as you could always downgrade in level to group with ppl of similar lvls. i dunno, just something to play around with so its not so monotonous

Even bigger in my mind is the rent-a-flyingmount and riftways. The world was absolutely gigantic (though barren in spots) before those went in.

Easy enough to change mob difficulty but we will need to be careful cause if there is not enough players then it will become a issue if it is to hard. (imo dungeons should require more then 1 person)

We were only able to collect so many quests so most of the gear will come from dungeons not questing most likely.

Level cap will only be 50 for a quite awhile

The framework is there and i was able to actually get the UI to populate data so we could implement AA's at some point.

Timed rent a mounts will be in along with riftways. Mounts in general will require work to get tho.

Well shucks, is there any chance that they will be optional in the future for a server build? Riftway camping in particular severely effected PvP and the game (pvp servers at least) was drastically better before they went in.

Pretty awesome that they were gonna add AAs.

I know this would be like way down the line, but do you guys ponder/plan on implementing the classes that were never released??
