Yes, there will be some strong turns once in a while, but like I said, no comeback mechanic, no late game. It's more mid-range. Copying a Tiger and having 3 5/5s on board isn't much different than dropping 2 Things from Below for free plus something else.

It sounds like you are judging endgame as something like N'zoth that turns the board completely around. A deck doesn't necessarily need something like that to be viable. Dropping 2 free Things from below for free plus something else also requires 3 cards from hand. Whereas dropping Warden gives you two creatures onboard for the price of one, potentially huge value for 6 mana. So yes, I would say that is pretty good endgame for a Tempo deck.

The card in many ways is similar to faceless summoner, which is already pretty decent in tempo decks. As long as you pretty much have any beast in play, its at least as good as that with potentially much higher upside.


I'm not going to say firmly that of course beast druid is going to be a tier 1 deck, but beast druid without warden is already quite viable. I think Warden is at least a good card, so I think the deck will be better. Given my main problem when playing beast druid in the last week has been finishing the game out after a strong beginning, it seems like this card will be useful to help finish out games.

Beast druid is just going to be an inferior version of zoo. You won't have the draw power of lifetap or the explosive finishing power of PO/Soulfire. Your entire gameplan revolves around getting an explosive early game advantage and hoping to ride it to victory.

Yes, that is the issue with beast druid, but Warden seems to be a pretty strong card into pushing that advantage to the end.

The warlock hero power though, really hard to compete with that and the efficiency of the 1 mana for 4 damage cards.

rofl just had a shaman get buccaneer from maelstrom portal, so instead of playing barnes on curve, i was forced to pain/hero power because he was going into turn 5 without overload and it was instant game over if he'd had doomhammer in hand.

Almost certainly going to lose now because of the lost tempo. Hooray for dumb fucking RNG cards!

Lost of course. I was right though, he had the doomhammer in hand when I pained the buccaneer.

That card is only going to get better over the next 2 weeks when people think about making more spell power oriented Shaman decks.

End game to me is either: effective high impact minions or burst to finish off opponent or a combo (Gromm)

Beast Druid will need Savage Roar for their end game push, maybe slot in Rag, but with Menagerie you're pushing out Sylvanas/Cairne and may not want to fit in AoW either. Late game needs to be like 5 cards at 6+ mana that each have very high impact. Menagerie is a 6 slot that is going to be inconsistent imo.

We will see. For it to be good value though, you only have to hit any other beast in your deck outside of raven (and hitting raven isn't that bad). If it hits anything better than that, it gets silly. That doesn't sound inconsistent to me.

I'd rather see cards like this than more "Call Of the Wild" type crap in one card which by itself swings the game completely.

I think I'd like to see one more deathrattle beast for druid or make the warden card like Thing, or they need a beast that actually effects board without requiring a friendly condition. Lots of options really.

It'll be interesting to see how beast druid pans out. As it is now it seems like the druid just runs out of steam, but warden will certainly help that.

Thinking about savage combatant.. i wish it was a battlecry,gain 2 attack. I don't think it needs to be an inspire card, it actually hinders it. The free 2 attack for 1 turn only could actually make it playable at its current cost and body

After thinking about it, I think I misplayed against that buccaneer. I should have just dropped barnes on curve and hoped he either didn't have doomhammer or I would draw into harrison. Perfect example of playing to not lose instead of playing to win.

My two closest runs the first one got derailed after a great start when my queen was buried in my bottom two fucking cards. This most recent run I fucking crushed him, then lost to that stupid fucking hero power before I could finish him.

Maybe I got lucky with it but dont think Queen was even needed as long as you always line up the minions to hit 2... i remember skipping a turn entirely to not fuck it up but yea idk, maybe just lucky draws or something
