Most underrated and overrated movies ever

I was in the same boat, watched it after seeing it in the Netflix thread on the last boards. Fantastic movie.
I feel like lots of movies are underrated and overrated so it's hard to pick but if I had to choose maybe i'd go with:

Underrated - Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolution

Overrated - Forrest Gump

Before everyone starts bashing me for the two Matrix sequels, they were pretty good movies, they just didn't have the same feel and style etc. as the first Matrix so while it may have been a let down for the trilogy I don't think they were as god awful of movies in the general sense as people make them out to be.

I saw Stardust when it released. Y'all are weird.

I've watched a few of the movies he's brought up. Some of them are nice little gems, but some just don't seem to match his descriptions. Bashing on Stardust doesn't help his cause though, tennis knowledge or not!

I am extremely eclectic in my tastes and the opposite of a movie snob! There are 11 american movies in my 2015 top 20 (+ 2 iranian, 2 french, 1 hungarian, 1 spanish, 1 italian, 1 chinese and 1 japanese). Also, no black and white movie It just so happen that I find Stardust's idea of making a kind of Hyper Fairy Tale interesting, but that, sadly, the end result does not work so well (and I love Claire Danes since Igby Goes Down).

Also my most overrated pick got nabbed (Shawshank Redemption) by the Original Poster...

Underratted is very hard to pick...

Underrated: The Phantom Menace.

Just delete JarJar and it is ok with some really good bits.

Underrated- Dredd

Overrated- Inception, plus it stole its plot from Scrooge Mcduck!
