pretty cool they brought the "Tri-fighter" back into canon with this episode. It was the new Tie with shields on the projected schematic toward the end.

I've really enjoyed the last two epidodes. Hondo has grown on me lately and I'm loving the Thrawn episodes. Any rumors if Obi-Wan will show up down the line? I feel like Maul needs to meet his end at the hands of old Ben.

there were definitely rumors of exactly that at the start of this season, but I haven't heard a peep in months. Word seems to be the season 4 will be the last one for Rebels before they start the new series, whatever it may end up being, so I would imagine they are planning some good storylines for next season, including what you mentioned.

Unless that end up saving that for a potential Kenobi standalone. Although they would need to age up McGregor if they put it in that time period.

They've always said that the reason clone wars got yanked was that they transitioned too much from child/teenage friendly stories to the more serious adult (read: good) parts of the universe. I imagine they have to plan on that happening by the end of season 4 and plan a transition to a new medium before they drop in merchandise and ratings.

Supposedly adherents of the Rey is a Kenobi theory will come away from this weeks episode feeling more convinced of that being the case.

Yeah they got off on a brief tangent about it yesterday on Collider Movie Talk. They get screeners of the episodes early because they do a summary and review on their site immediately after each one airs. They don't go into any specifics of course since that would cost them their early access but take it for what it's worth.

Vid should start at the relevant part of the show (23:20 in).

OK so then my question is, what hints were there in TFA that indicated OB1? They were strong enough that daisy was surprised people didn't know.

Edit: And also, isn't she too young to be OB1's daughter?

She would have to be Obi-wan's granddaughter or niece or something. Lothal Calendar makes much more sense than After Battle of Yavin:
Episode 4 - 3277 (0 ABY)
Episode 5 - 3280 (3 ABY)
Episode 6 - 3281 (4 ABY)
Episode 7 - 3311 (34 ABY)

Rey was born in 3292 (15 ABY).

Not daughter, granddaughter. As far as proof there isn't a lot. Ewan MacGregor did some voice work for Rey's vision. I think the trunk Maz had was Obi-Wan's from Ep.4 and her accent is also the same as his. Obi-Wan was in love with a Mandalorian queen at one point (canon from Clone Wars), so it's not unheard of for him to break Jedi tenant.

I think it's supposed to be because of all the voices and things that are said as a part of that force vision (and there are quite a few, more have been found since it came out on blu-ray and people could really go over it with a fine-toothed comb) it's Obi-wan that addresses her directly by calling her name and his voice that ends the vision.

I don't think that's particularly clear or solid proof myself. Certainly not strong enough to think that everyone should have figured it out.

They talked a bit more about it on Jedi Council yesterday. Again, without specifics, but it sounds like it's gonna be a good one (vid skips to that part of the show).

Her being his granddaughter would be cool if only because that means there's more kenobi story to tell. But, the question was her parentage, wasn't it? And there's no way he ever met her, so why would she have recognized his voice?

Tie Defenders are totally OP. They don't give Thrawn the budget to make them because he's supposed to be Grand Admiral of a sector nobody gives a fuck about as punishment for being blue.

As for Kenobis having a natural affinity for beating up superior Skywalkers... enough with the rhyme meme.

I'm holding out hope that her parent's are nobodies. They sure spent enough time establishing the message that she was a nobody in the trailers and the movie. IMO anyone they connect her to is either nonsensical or waters down established characters instead of making things more interesting.

She wouldn't have, unless the ideas of her being trained before being left on Jakku are accurate and she had some contact with Ben's force ghost.

But really if she has never had any sort of contact with Ben in any form before that and has no clue as to who that voice is, it would only reinforce that he is a significant figure to her past. That in turn would only add to Ben's warning to Vader of "If you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine" as he calls out to own blood and kin to rise up against Vader's successor and resist, just as he did that day on the Death Star.

If any of this ends up being true.

The biggest flaw to these TV shows is cramming an episode into only 22 minutes. Some of these should be 2-parters.

Episode is up on Disney XD app. I guess I don't see the connection...
All they said was the key to defeating the Sith lies with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unless it was something Maul said that I missed. To me it seems more like they were just talking about Luke.
