So this comes out next week. I am really stoked for this as I absolutely loved Vermintide and generally love all things 40k and horde defense type pseudo-dungeon crawlers.

Are there other, loyal servants of the Emperor, around here who want to purge Xenos scum with me?

Was in the beta from pre-order.... refunded. Lots of really broken unpolished shit so near release. Le sad.

When did you last play it?
Dunno, like 1.5 weeks ago. I got in pretty late to the beta. In this is on my brand new comp too. Assault cannon for example also felt like complete ass. Storm bolter felt fairly good.

I love me some 40k but gonna wait and see what consensus is after launch, also not sure how long it would hold my interest without any type of progression system.

Space Marine wasn't terrible and several of the weapons there felt really good.
But despite Dan Abnett's name, I have a bad feeling about this. Endless spawn hordes bores me.

Why oh why can't we get a triple A title for 40k? It's one of my all time favorite universes (table top, books, games, etc.) and there is so much damn potential.

This game looks gorgeous, but like many here, I just can't bring myself to spend money on it without some SOLID proof that it's stable and fleshed out.

So, has anybody purchased this and found it to be enjoyable? I'm really craving a Left 4 Dead style experience with a few buddies.

I haven't yet, but judging by the reviews I'd avoid it for now. Gameplay seems solid and fun, but the performance is fuckawful right now - bordering on unplayable. 1080gtx i7 rigs not able to maintain 60 on minimum settings kind of bad.

Because despite how awesome it is, 40k simply does not have the following to justify a project with a Triple A budget, especially when the setting is basically just a ripoff of Starcraft. It doesn't help that the development rights were stuck with a retarded publisher like THQ for years. Quite frankly we're lucky that we even got something as good as the Dawn of War series.

Extremely monotonous. Admittedly I'm only on the 3rd level, but holy shit this game has an identity crisis. You can order your crew around as if it's a tactical shooter, but it's a bit clunky, and simultaneously there are just waves and waves of nids. The art/graphics are superb. It isn't linear, which is a plus. I just didn't find the actual gameplay enthralling at all. The nids would literally run at you in a line. Just hold the trigger down and they drop. No sense of satisfaction at all. I'd wait til it's on sale if you're really curious. Again, those are initial impressions, and I haven't even touched multiplayer yet.

How do you call it a ripoff of Starcraft? WH40k came out in '87. Starcraft came out in '98. Unless you're talking about just the videogame aspect. In which case, Space Hulk was out on my 3DO in '95.

Vermintide DLC just came out:

It's also on PS4/Xbone if that's acceptable. The console version comes with the two previous DLC releases baked in.

Are you serious right now dog? Starcraft was literally based on 40k.

But yes. In the meantime I will buy that Vermintide DLC because Vermintide is tits.

You're wearing a massive suit of armor. It is supposed to feel "clunky". There's no jumping and spinning around throwing frost lances in this one brews.

Had fun last night but yeah I can see it getting repetitive.

Load times were a little bit of a bitch for me but that's the only problem I had.

The 40k lore/feel is infinitely better than what SC 2 became. Hoping we get something truly awesome one day.
