Came across this on a "Most Binge-able Shows of 2016" list or something like that from Rotten Tomatoes. Australian show about some chick who returns to a small town in Tasmania and all this weird shit is happening. Watched the first 4 out of 8 tonight and I'm absolutely interested in how it plays out, although it does appear to have a decent chance of nose-diving. Critics love it though, figured I'd post it.

Has a Wayward Pines/Twin Peaks/Stranger Things kinda feel.

Just finished this and found it pretty meh overall. It is one of those shows that is purposefully vague and ignoring conversation / information to try and tell an interesting story. Reminds me of something I saw recently where I hated every character because not a single person told the truth about anything, no one questioned strange shit happening, and they were all generally terrible to each other. That's how I felt about everyone here.

It just leads to a bunch of conveniently discovered information or plot points when the writers figured they need to move something forward or give a cliff hanger. Not because any of the characters were smart enough to follow simple information or ask a question.

Conversations like, "They know what happened up there." "No they can't know." "They know I'm sure." "No one knows." Is like every scene.

Maybe I'm being too critical, but I generally like shows that are somewhat slow, quiet, and brooding. This gave a lot of that just with a poor wrapping around it.

Regarding the actual plot:

So, Renea kills Chloe to get back at Ana because she lost Gillian years ago? Chloe and Ana didn't even really know each other, though? But Ana is a clone made by the seeds, and Gillian is also, but she is with Jorgensen, who is a clone of David Own from the Antarctic expedition, and they're all there to take over humanity? With moss, and 43k year old flowers, some bubbly water, and moths.

I was having a hard time finding the words to describe it but you managed it perfectly. Will still watch a second season because I'm a sucker for this type of sci.fi / paranormal shit happening in small towns.

Prepared myself for an awful ending, or at least a very wide-open one... Turned out better than I expected! Very binge-able, with a lot of "What the fuck". I'd definitely tune in for another season. Has a good element of legitimate creepiness, and the Tasmanian environment is somewhat fresh.

Intrinsic's main complaint, the obvious lack of questioning by the characters drove me crazy, though. I may be going too light on criticism for the finale, just because I expected the worst. It is pretty far-fetched.

So did Renee kill Chloe to get back at Ana? I must've missed that specific tid-bit. Maybe in a way to make Ana lose her mind even more, or hope the murder gets blamed on her lol? The weapon did get put in Ana's vehicle, which for a bit I thought was her father's doing. Would make sense though if Renee was trying to stage her because she believed Ana did it all along. Also did Renee kidnap that little, annoying fucking girl to kill her? Or take her to get "cloned" or some shit? Guessing probably to just pay her back for all those fucked up phone calls. Oh, well she deserved it.

Hope Dutch didn't actually die, he is about the only one with a brain & common sense. The Dhaytlov Pass tie-in definitely gave me a boner, I'm a sucker for that shit. I do hope there is still a very, "unknown" element to season 2 (if it's green lit). A show purely based on them trying to eradicate the clones probably won't do it for me. Still not completely sure how I feel about the "clone" turn...
