Saw no thread on this. Have finished the 12 episodes. Have any of you watched it? Good in places, a few plot holes. Overall good time travel fun.

Finished last night. Really liked this one. Not sure yet what to think about the the identity/nature of the director but otherwise, great time travel show. Continuum, this is how you make a time travel show interesting and watchable.

I just finished it yesterday. I thought it was pretty good some plot holes but overall good. I liked how changes in the present affected the future. It was also fun seeing all the Stargate actors that were sprinkled in. Needs more naked Marcy though. I hope it gets a second season.

Yeah I liked it and really hope it gets a second season just so I can see more David the social worker getting shafted on a regular basis.

It is made by the same canadian station as Continuum and even has several of their actors in it. Solid first season. We binged it on netflix during the holiday break.

I actually did like this show. Novel idea and played out well(without giving away endings). The one thing I will say is that with any time travel show I feel they wear out their welcome. You can tell they want a season 2 but it won't work. It just gets lamer and lamer until it fails, but this season was a neat idea and the production/acting/etc was all good.

I'm getting into my own subjective opinion but I hate when shows get "personal". I've never been a fan of emotional drama. Example: I loved X-Files when each episode was a disconnected mystery about something super-natural. I completely fucking hated it when it was all about the relationships and government conspiracy to cover up aliens. This show had some of that.

It starts off with a cool mystery and you sorta wonder and believe in the team, but then it slowly shifts to the emotional connections between characters and their history and I just don't find that interesting. It does jump back to the main plot but then the season ends so well see. Overall it was on Netflix which I pay for anyway and I binge watched it in about 3-5 days so hard to complain about something I barely paid 15$ for if you factor all Netflix I watched that month.

However if I had to talk to a friend and provide recommendation, I'd go with "3%" over this.

It is a very interesting concept also interesting that the number of travelers is actually pretty high it seems so its not just a few here and there. One issue as with all time traveling shows is if you are taking orders from the future as you are working to make changes to the future the place place you are getting orders from may have little to no relation to what you originally left from and supported initially. Given the cell nature of how they work its more likely to cause an apocalypse than to prevent it.

Maybe, but what if there are multiple future timelines sending travelers into the past? Like does the previous future wink out of existence once you changed something that changed it? And if so, how did you get there? Your existence confirms that timeline still exists. So, if there are multiple future timelines, you could actually be getting conflicting orders from Director A and B, since they are able to communicate backwards.

Watched the first episode last night and I think me and the grill will continue watching it. Kind of skimmed posts on here to see reactions and try to avoid any spoilers, but seems it's well accepted.

It's got all the Canadians that do all the syfy shows. I'm pretty sure it's not a netflix original, but shown on the Canadian network Showcase. I could be wrong

I really like it and thought they did a great job. I don't want to talk too much about it, but it was amazing.

Just watched the 6th episode and I'm finally seeing the complaints about plot holes.

The episode wasn't bad, but there was a lot of me sitting there going, "Uh? What?" They seemed to be all self inflicted plot holes, however, that could've been completely avoided, but I think they wanted more conflict. Hoping that was the worst of it, but I doubt it. The weird emotional baggage is a little baffling as well.

Or even odder perhaps their success at their first major mission worked as intended and their future is now fine. But since they are in the past other timelines where it did not work are what they are getting orders from. If your future is fine and sunny you would not be sending travelers into the past to change it.

But since they are in the past other timelines where it did not work are what they are getting orders from. If your future is fine and sunny you would not be sending travelers into the past to change it.

But if every change in the past fractures the timeline into new ones, with the number of travelers you'd have 100's or 1000's of timelines, each with their own Director and time travel equipment. And you'd probably start to see duplicate travelers sent back, because in a future timeline perhaps they didn't send the same guy at the same time, so you'd see copies coming at different times.

If they all come to the same "present" timeline, things would get well and truly fucked real quick. The only way such a premise works is if you have one future timeline and one present timeline, or if a timeline fracture occurs it fractures both the present and future together so that any action by that future occurs in the present that it is associated with. It's really a complicated issue, made more complicated by the fact that it's impossible and we have no idea what'd actually happen...

From imdb. Also says show case at the bottom, so maybe we both kind of right.

From the Wikipedia entry:

Travelers is a science fiction television series created by Brad Wright, starring Emmy Award-winning actor Eric McCormack. The series is a co-production between Netflix and Showcase. The first season comprises 12 episodes and premiered on Showcase on October 17, 2016; the entire series premiered globally (outside of Canada) on Netflix, on December 23, 2016.

Looks like you both are :)

Didn't realize this was a Brad Wright show, I'll have to watch it now. Loved SG-1 and SG:A.
