So, as a final update:
They have suspended the search for Paul. The area his vehicle went into has proven too difficult to continue safely searching and the agencies involved have exhausted all resources they have available.
At this point, there's not much more we can do, unless we wanted to try and continue to search on our own. But the area is part of state park land, so we would have to get permission to continue, plus permitting from various agencies. And even then, if we had someone dredge the area and then have divers go back in, we still may not find him. And I know he would not want my parents to bankrupt themselves just to try and find his body, and I told them as such.
So we will have to live with that. And I think that's when it really hit me, when I realized that my parents won't be able to have that closure, to be able to say that we at least got him back. And that hurts me the most. It just fucking hurts.

I don't mean to dredge this up but when the car was found were the doors closed and windows in tact? As in ejection wouldn't have happened? What did his seat belt look like?
Since he was on the job is there any way to make them help?
It's a horrible choice to have to decide to go on or accept this, curious if there are things that will be lingering all time.

It's Florida. There is a non zero chance he actually was eaten. I don't mean to be insensitive. But it kinda sounds like what the divers were thinking.
Someone hit a deer near my house once, and it died in the ditch. I called animal control and a guy came out the next day. Told me he would take anything up to a large dog, but more than that wasn't on him. Suggested I just bury it. So I dug a deer grave and drug the thing over there. But I'd been at work all day, it was sunset, so I decided to close the grave the next day. When I went to do it the only thing left were a few bloody bones.
I don't know what the fuck got that deer. But it wasn't human.
I hope it's not insensitive. Sometimes there may not be a body to find.

Sorry, hadn't had a chance to post for a bit.
But yeah, the search for him has been suspended. It was just too long between the accident and when we found the vehicle, don't really know what happened to his body at this point.
We had a Memorial Service for him last Saturday. Had a lot of people show, both co-workers and friends, so people had a chance to talk about him and things like that.
Right now, its just learning to get back to work and life and learning how to live with things as they are. And its not always easy.
