Is anyone from the board traveling in for the Super Bowl? Are any members from Houston actually going?

I will be there Friday through Monday early afternoon. Flying in to Austin and taking a rental car to Houston and flying out of Houston. Be with 3 other buddies, I know we will be at Kirbys ice house Saturday.

Houston's going to be a fucking mess this weekend. Get ready for multiple hours stuck in awful traffic, so plan accordingly. Sounds like events/festivities are happening all the way out in City Centre which seems ridiculous given how far from Reliant that is.... I just got back this morning, and it was already starting to become a shit show!

City Centre is a shitshow on a regular weekend. Not a fan. Maybe that's our way of introducing out of town guests to Houston properly:
"Welcome to our city! Traffic is a clusterfuck, people drive like rabid animals and events are planned with the logistical foresight of a 5 year old!" At least they can't complain they aren't getting an authentic experience.

With all the bullshit spewed about hotels, you gotta tell us how your accommodation situation worked out.

Stayed there plenty of times for NAPE, great location. Getting there from the airport will suck but I imagine Houston will be a blast this weekend. I just sucks that Matty Ice is winninggggggggg

If anyone still wanted tickets, we were explaining the whole concept of the Super Bowl to an H1B working in our office and checked prices on tickets: nosebleed 600-sections in the upper rafters were going for $2200-plus per seat earlier in the week and only got more stupid from there.

I can't make this weekend but Kirby Ice House is right in my sweet spot for future meet-ups. I would be willing to pony up far more than one pitcher to not have to explore the far west side.

Houston is legit, definitely better than Indianapolis, and I'd say better than Glendale. Traffic sucked a bit, but bars were awesome, people were chill. Granted only went to Kirbys Ice House and Devils taco I wanna say? Or something. Would definitely go back.

Also, airport was great.

The city has come a long ways since the 2004 Super Bowl.

Traffic will forever and always will be a problem.

I am pretty open to whatever / whenever. But moving around this city between 3-7pm on Friday is hell.

You guys are the locals, so make the call.

Is Kirby's a hole in the wall type place, or a hipster spot?
