DKC just got new karts too.

We can meet at MSR Cresson if you want to race. :)

Yes a lot of us are in DFW.

A friend of mine is an instructor at MSR, he's also a news anchor for channel 8, lol.

I've yet to go out there because I ain't rolling in Highland Park money and I hear it's quite expensive. I almost went to that open race tournament DKC had last weekend but I wanted to work on my race car instead.

Instructor with what group?

The events themselves ain't that expensive... but the running costs to keep a normal street car going can be stupid. Tires, brake pads, brake rotors, oil changes, suspension parts, anything you break while you're out there, upgrades to cooling systems/braking systems/suspension parts... etc... it gets spendy to make a car do more than park hard. :)

Picked up this 2015 F-150 XLT on the weekend. It has 23,000km on it. Traded in my 2012 Silverado which was at 100,000km and had way to many problems popping up.

I'm not a truck guy, but thumbs up for the new vehicle.

The guys that made all my internals put their 1.9L stroker kit on my exact same build with a T3/T4 turbo and put down 604hp, what in the actual FUCK! I'm now looking at a kit with a T25, I don't need 600hp but GD that is an insane jump from the 175hp I expect.

lag, lag, lag, lag, lag, BOOOOOOOOST.

In a car that light, it would be a riot to drive. Hell, even 175 would be a ton of fun. Better power to weight than the new FRS/BRZ.

Would probably be very difficult to drive fast.

Sticky tires solve most problems =)
Sticky tires solve cover up problems. Trying to get on the throttle while cornering at the limit won't be any easier with sticky tires than non-sticky tires, but at street speeds it'll just up the limits enough to cover up any serious handling defects.

Sorry for the delayed response, it took this long for my turbo to spool up.

Sorry for the delayed response, it took this long for my turbo to spool up.

And once it's spooled, it revs out in less than a second, then it takes another 1.5 seconds to spool up in the next gear...

:)

But big turbo cars are fun as shit. I drove a T66 supra at TWS and it had about as much torque as a civic off boost and went from like 200 ft-lbs to 600 ft-lbs in like 500rpm... totally sick, very tough to drive but the straight line speed was insane.

I was just looking at that dyno graph some more and saw that it put down 2600 NM of torque, that's 1900 ftlbs out of a fucking 1.9L inline 4, jesus christos!

I've always had smaller turbos so I don't know that feeling, but it would be retarded in my tiny ass 86.

Thats measuring axle torque which is weird, based on the ~440hp @ 6500rpm (which is the torque peak) thats ~355-ish ft-lbs of torque if you want to compare apples to apples with other cars.

Ford killin' it with fun cars these days. About time.

Cad, out of curiosity - and a bit sarcastically - my daily needs new tires. Should I not go with the MPSS, Nittos, or Mickey Thompsons I've been shopping and instead get a car with inherently more stability and natural traction? If I hit the gas at 70mph, I spin up through about 90-95 =(
