Dealing with addiction

I just don't know what to say anymore regarding my addictive behavior. I am sad.

Its good that you feel strongly about it. But judgement is reserved for how well you can climb back up on the wagon-- not necessarily how many times you fall off.

Especially with something like alcohol, especially this early in your effort.

Its like the weight-lifting thing. Let's say Guy A has this huge extreme workout plan out the gate, and Guy A feels like he HAS to do all of it or nothing, that he HAS to stick to this program and destroy himself for an hour, and that is his disposition on working out-- all hardcore militant about it. All-or-nothing.

Guy A will not be working out for very long, I can tell you that. He doesn't believe that something is better than nothing, "something is better than nothing is for casual pussies" is his mantra.

Guy B who simply shows up and lifts a few casual weights and leaves in 10 minutes on some days will be in a better place, because hes still going to be working out. Guy A set himself up for emotional failure, he was all hardcore, everything had to be perfect and according to plan. Guy B will eventually start chipping into Guy A's workout plan some day. Guy A is fat and hasn't seen the inside of the gym in years and wonders where it all went wrong.

Guy B will continue to show up some days and leave after 10 minutes. He's a casual faggot. But none of that mattered in the end. He got the body that Guy A wanted. Half the victory was just showing up. Guy A psyched himself out of even showing up with his overnight all-or-nothing work ethic.

One guy is survivable and sustainable, one isn't.

I'm not so sure. While I didn't go out and do a bunch of insane degenerate shit, I also did not leave the crib for 3 days. Was even too paranoid to check out a party below me. Depends on what your version of success is. :p

Sounds like a success.

What's your plan if you need to piss test for a job?

Well. My plan is to land non-piss tech job or delay test until April 3rd. Tech is pretty flexible and also no hospital/gov leads ATM. So yeah, just went with fuck it.

like most people with addictive personalities you probably have dopamine balance issues, the best method is not to quit a behavior but to replace

replacing is a big part of mental conditioning that flys under most peoples radar, finding that replacement is the real journey my friend

Here is my 3 step guide for kicking any addiction.
1. Stop being a whiny bitch.
2. Read a bible, history book etc. and realize that people have personal problems going back thousands of years and have had it way harder than you, yet still managed to lead productive useful lives.
3. STFU and find a job, a woman who will put up with your shit, and have a few kids. You will be too busy keeping your kids fed to worry about your pathetic life.

Basically, real life.

If you fail to attempt to reproduce successfully you have disrespected A LOT of people who came before you. Essentially you are the biggest fucking loser. People will lie about it, the 40-60 year old hippies you'll hear bullshitting on it in denial about their decision to not procreate-- but at the end of the day everyday society knows what it is. They failed at life.

And society is better off due to their failure

Damn, Lulzsect

all the best advice was already given

but id like to add that i drank tons of booze, smoked tons of cigarettes and did a lot of drugs in my twenties and by the time i hit 30, i was just bored with it.

i pretty much quit partying like that and it wasnt even a concerted decision, it just kinda happened. nowadays i might have a beer or two out with friends once a week, i dont even want to drink a 3rd beer half the time. and i might smoke 5-10 cigarettes in a month. dont even touch or think about drugs anymore, zero appeal to me.
