Forgot to place my preorder for Founders KBS this year. Only one local store gets it and they all get claimed before release. Meh.

Still have never tried it, been trying to get some for years. I even live in Michigan, but on the wrong side of the mitten for ideal Founders distribution density.

KBS is Trump-juice, nothing but a bottle of winning.

Mikkeller is so damn good. Just really expensive. It's dangerous that Mikkeller Bar is about a 15 minute walk from my place. And right next to the subway station I use.

So something happened with their canning operation, because the price per ounce of Even More Jesus is so fucking cheap. The beer is amazing, and it's only real competitor for the cost ratio is old rasputin.

When I last visited SF, we went there and I have to agree. Given a few hours, I would be drinking their $50-60 bottles from the cellar no problem. Doesn't hurt that the pretzels/charcuterie board are pretty solid too.

While we're on the topic of the beer scene, this article by the founder of Modern Times does a really good job of explaining the purchase of craft brands by big beer and its consequences.

tl;dr - the sold craft label will probably still produce high quality beer, but it will be used to push smaller labels off shelves & taps through distribution muscle and the ability to price at a loss to kill competition.

I find this absurd. Craft breweries spent years going on about "Drink Local" and all that bullshit and then they get greedy for shelf space and want to complain? How about just keep your shit "local" and stop worrying about bottle sales. That's why growlers were such a big deal back in the day. Nobody fucking bottled anything in the craft scene and they all were happy back then.

If anyone is able to get to Tampa area I have a 2013 Marshal Zhukov for sale.

So, my Costco is no longer selling individual bottles - fuckers. I ended up getting a case of Sierra Nevada IPAs, 4 diff ones. Drinking the Black IPA right now - it's 6.9% abv but it feels like more. I like it.

Absolutely love their celebration IPA, and the new beer camp golden IPA is supposed to be really good. Keep an eye out next month and in May for the Beer Camp Across America variety packs from Sierra Nevada. They did collabs with a ton of breweries, and it includes one of two of each beer. They did an IPA with Tree House which I am very excited for.

Opening up my bottle of Mocha Wednesday tonight. It's been aging for a year. Looking forward to it.

Good time to start drinking. I like your pre-10am style.

I've made more than one Whole Foods breakfast run that consists of their creme brulee french toast, bacon, and fried potatoes paired with something out of the beer cooler. I'm a night owl though and 8 AM is often more like afternoon to me.

Ha, don't know if I can handle 19% at 10am. Opened it up with some friends that night.

Enjoyed it but prefer black Tuesday. The coffee came across a little on the acidic side.

That said, I don't have much experience with coffee flavored beers in general.

Crap...none of you regulars seem to be here now...when I need you.
Costco redeems itself puts singles back on the shelf..
So, since I have no guidance I am putting the Boulevard Rye on Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Ale Limited Release 2017 in my cart. Gonna have to find someone to drink it with me...reasons: pint, 14.0%, I weigh about 122 right now.

Reach for the stars, Mrs. Gravy. You got this.
It was deeeeelicious...but I like whiskey so that helped. I shared it with my nephew who liked it as much as I did; but the flavors were strong so I don't know if I could have had the entire pint by myself without getting flavor-fatigued. The content just made me warm and a bit light. I think I could have handled the bottle; I do with wine all the time and I tend towards stronger abv in those too.

Rye On Rye is awesome, but I only want 5-8oz of it at a time, but that's how most RIS/BA beers go for me.
