Nintendo has been predictably retarded for something like 15 years now. We're all frustrated with it, because if you pick 10 random users on this forum they could come up with better business decisions than Nintendo has been making.

This is the thing that really crunches my Doritos. The mistakes and blunders Nintendo has been making with the Switch are so predictable and so obviously a result of the entire system being a rush job. I (and I think many others) would be a lot more forgiving if the system and launch had been well planned and thought out, but just hit some unpredictable obstacles. However, almost every issue that has come up with the Switch is purely down to Nintendo just making blatantly stupid decisions that anyone could have looked at beforehand and said "Hey guys, this might not be a great idea..."

you should have stopped at Wii.

I stopped at Gamecube because it was the single worst purchase I've ever made to a console category.

Well, at least I got Metroid Prime 1/2, Wind Waker (I actually liked it) Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, and more important than all of those, Eternal Darkness out of the thing.

I still play my original Gamecube to this day, because it has the best Mario golf game on it, and it works really well as a drinking game.

Too many "yes men" at the company? It's still very Japanese, so I guess by definition it's filled to the brim with "yes men".

It's too bad they stopped falling on swords. The problem would have resolved itself. If you remove that from the equation you end up with modern day Nintendo.

Lol I loved that game.

Also had the Deluxe edition. With ROB and Gyromite.

Shit I was playing one of the first Donkey Kong handhelds from Nintendo.

Sounds like a great place to work:

"So starting from the early stages of development we had been constantly showing Mr. Miyamoto our progress. At times we would even show him once a week what we'd been working on, because if we don't do that, and then go face-to-face and present the idea, tables might be flipped!'"

This is with Zelda, but I am guessing some idiot passed down the decisions for Switch just the same even if there were 500 Japanese scremaing on the inside and a legit fear of flying tables if they disobey their senseis.

Q&A: Design lessons learned from a decade at Nintendo's EAD

Apparently was worse in the old days when old man Yamauchi ran things. Literally pit the hardware development teams against each other. Lol

Apparently over the last two years they've been transitioning into a non... kill or be killed type of work place. All the teams now work in one place. The corporate structure has also been changed to a more modern style of company. They're changing, but slowly.

This is how I imagine it was, yes. There's a conspiracy amongst gamers that Gunpei Yokoi didn't get in a wreck, but was killed because of Virtual Boy's failure and him leaving the company to make the WonderSwan.

Also, Konami or Sega (I forget which) was in bed with the Yakuza. [/bcolor]

We should include cowboy hats and RDR and call it a YeeHaw bundle. See? Better even than Nintendo. So good it was even an April Fool's joke.

I swear to God game industry analysts are some of the dumbest people on the planet.

Could Nintendo's Switch Be a Bigger Hit Than the Wii?

How the fuck can you predict the Switch being bigger than the Wii when it has sold almost exactly the same as the Wii U? Just for people who don't know, the Wii sold 101 million units. The Switch has sold (maybe) 3 million. Even the 3ds hasn't, and won't, hit 100 million, the Switch has zero chance of even coming close. The best part is the fanboys slurping this shit up and actually believing this nonsense. I don't know if there will be enough crow to go around when it's all said and done.

every year they should take analysts and the 2 who got it the most wrong should have to fight in a cage, two retards walk in only one can walk out. i'd bet predictions would get a lot more serious after that. Just make a whole network out of it - political analysts, sports, video games, movies, etc. Even more meta would be the analysts who predict who wins the cage matches fighting the bracket champions at the end.

Switch has basically sold every console that Nintendo has delivered to stores up to this point. It's supply-constrained, so there isn't really any conclusions you can make from it either way. By this time for the Wii U (6 weeks), it's sales had already started to nosedive because it had no killer software at launch - it never recovered.

Because of the Wii, Nintendo manufactured 10 million Wii U's right out of the gate for it's launch so if you wanted one you could get one in every region, and it took them years to sell all of that stock.

Which is the same as here except they just didn't produce more, but once they target 16 million units by the end of March 2018, they will still have the same issue the Wii U had. A garbage console which will now compete with Scorpio and the possibility of a next gen Sony console, and up and coming VR technology as that goes mainstream.

I am seeing them anywhere I go now. At least 2-3 on the shelves as it stands just sitting there. Walmart and Target and Gamestop when I was just futtzing around town the last 5 days. Only reason why people do not think they are available is because no one is selling them online, as such do not list in nowinstock.com and then thought of as a hot item still. Maybe it's chance. I should check to see if they are still there and if they need to be dusted :)
