So this is, apparently, now a fall series at best and possibly delayed even longer due to the myriad problems they have been facing ever since they switched show runners. I kinda wonder if CBS isn't going to just punt on the whole thing. It sure seems like a recipe for disaster.

It’s going great, I’ve actually been up there [to the set]. It is, you know, phenomenal. It is huge. And we’re very excited about the content, the creators, the actors, all coming together. As you said, we’re not tied to any specific release date. It’ll be there when we’re ready to do it, and when we feel it’s in a great place. We’re not worried about anything here. We’re excited, and we’ll have more specifics as we get closer to what will likely be the release dates.

As someone else pointed out the quote above should be read in Donald Trump's voice.

Its going to be great, I know some wonderful people that are doing some great things. The writing is incredible, we have some very incredible writers, they're going to be having us go to many other fantastic planets. I will bring back the Treks and some new people. The scifi will have the best effects, there will be a vast number of ships and aliens. The actors are very exciting and we have a very strong cast for the show. Dont believe the media, I have seen many of the things on the set, believe me its going to be great!

If you say one goddamn thing bad about Awake I'll reach through the internet and kill you myself.

Not one mention the main character (the black gal they killed off on The Walking Dead) is named Michael? Trans(gender)Porter accident or very special series?

The best possible scenario here is that the Writer's Guild goes out on strike and CBS uses that as an excuse to deep six this whole mess and come back in 18 months with some radically different idea.

And the worst possible scenario here is that the Writers' Guild goes out on strike and CBS is desperate for material and puts this largely already written show on broadcast, it's a steaming pile of Homeboys from Outer Space, and everyone thinks "Lolz, a Star Trek TV show" for 20 years.

Speaking of brand damage, they've been pretty quiet on a Beyond sequel too...

Putting out a new Star Trek series after all this time shouldn't be an anthology, it should be a real show that we care about. That we can get invested in all the characters and care about long term. The whole premise is failure

This show seems like it's going to be a hot mess. Better off to scrap it and start over with people that aren't retarded running it.

I honestly can't wait to see this. I want to see how bad it is or if they can actually salvage it since my expectations are so low. As much as I enjoy a train wreck, I want a good Star Trek show that does well so they don't fucking kill the I.P like they have been trying to.

They should have just hired the Axanar guy to run the new series instead of being complete faggots to them.

Uh, I love you chanur, but what the fuck man.

I think CBS has shown they are in over their head so far. This thing sounds like a disaster. Seeing what the Axanar guy did with no studio and a tiny budget was impressive. Someone that creative and passionate would probably have done well is all.
