Apparently McD's is getting rid of the Hi-C Lavaburst Orange. I still get that every now and then, it's a huge throwback to childhood. :(

Damn man, I don't go to McD's anymore barely but that was my goto drink growing up too. RIP orange hi-c with extra extra ice.

McDonald's is the Nintendo of fast food. Just a string of stupid decisions.

I think that was 2014. At least looking up all this info was from 2015 graphic based on 2014 numbers. I would not be shocked to see Subway has fallen down the list some by now. Subway has fallen pretty hard the past few years. Wendy's has moved past Burger King and some other small changes but I guess the point remains. No one touches McDonalds, not even the pedo clown.

Well I just had Smashburger for the first time. I can say I will never go back. That place fucking sucked ass. I got the bacon burger combo meal and it was terrible. Paid 13 bucks for that shit. Now I know why the place was empty at lunch.

Also, Subway's success isn't surprising. They've got the whole healthy angle going for them (as debatable as that might be). At the very least, it's one of the easiest places to get a low-ish calorie meal that is pretty filling. That's why most people go to Subway; it's not because they have the tastiest subs.

Subway also has some mega convenient locations, including directly in some larger workplaces.

Plus, most towns have a Subway on every corner. There are almost 45,000 of those mother fuckers worldwide. They have more locations than over 30 other franchise food chains combined.

When you are that big, not even having a child molester as your company spokesman can take you down.

We have 4 subways in my town. We only have 2 each of Wendy's, BK, and McDonald's. Not only that but we have a Firehouse, 2 Jimmy John's, Quiznos, and a McAllisters. Subs must be pretty damn popular in my area.

Isn't subway dropping fast though? I thought it was much higher.
Yes, see above. That was a graphic from a 2015 news story based on 2014 data and Subway was already in decline and all the other sub places were on rise. Subway then cut meat/toppings and raised prices and stories started coming out about the chicken being only half chicken and whatnot. Subway remains very popular on campus locations mostly due to location availability but this last year was the first time Subway had a decline in stores and sales are way down overall. I am not sure it is $3Billion/25% down but it is dropping hard.

This data is over 2 years old and was just the next year the 3rd place data was listed above.

It's also i believe the cheapest most affordable franchise to start out with (among the big names).

Like Subway you just need like 50k and shit, but w/ McDee's i think you have a nice plot of land leased out and like a 1million b4 they'll let you get on as a franchisee

I know Dunkin' as well also requires a million liquid for approval. Chik fil a is also pretty strict about who they'll sell to as well as restrictions on distances within other franchises.

I think it makes sense. If a McD's is put anywhere with decent traffic and the next McD's is at least 2 miles away, you're fucking golden. I don't know if I've ever seen a McDonald's shut down in a big city. I'm sure people in Detroit and shit have, but in a healthy city it's got to be free money.

Chik-Fil-A is definitely worth checking out. It's one of the highest quality fast food chains around. I typically do the nuggets, but the spicy chicken biscuit is the best if you get there for breakfast.
