God damn it, I purchased it yesterday, was just shopping for my 1080 Ti and found this out. Wonder if I can refund my order. /sigh

I don't see how you could possibly not get a refund on a game that hasn't been released yet. If your talking about just buying the video card. I don't see why not, who did you purchase it from?

Blizzard, I figured out a solution though. I need to buy 2 copies anyway, as the girl is obsessed with Destiny. Turns out Nvidia has a thing where you have to install the video card, register it, and then link it with a battle.net account. I'll just link it to her account, and problem solved. I purchased my copy with Bliz credits just selling gold in WoW, so on the bright side, 2 copies of Destiny 2 for no additional cost out of pocket. All is right with the world

1080's and 1080 Ti's.
Apparently it's locked to those two cards so you can't buy a code from someone and use it unless you have one of those models. Of course if you do, you'll probably find a key on the cheap sooner or later.

The other Destiny thread(s) seem dead now so I'm just going to ask this here:
Did the story/lore ever get good enough to bother with? I feel like playing a game of this sort, but the Division seems to be in the worst place it's been since release, and with the Destiny collection on sale for $30 until tomorrow it's tempting to upgrade my year one copy with the expansions. I have zero interest in PVP, especially Destiny PVP, so it'd be strictly for the story. I quit long before Taken King (never even downloaded the season pass DLCs that I paid for, actually) so I assume there's quite a bit of content to play through before September.

Vanilla was pretty disjointed, but it got better every expansion. Definitely worth a playthrough you will have fun, plus its like the best feeling shooter, mechanics wise, on the market IMO. and I would definitely try PvP. You can join at lv1 (its all normalized for power and levels) its unique PvP experience to basically any other shooter. Kind of arcade like fast paced fun that does not mean a thing.
