FoH used to perform some shenanigans against the #2 guilds they were cockblocking, but they usually and almost always acted with dignity and didn't pull the kind of shit that members of "top guilds" pull today. That would not have flown back in the day. You'd have looked like a pathetic idiot and you'd have never made it into the guild in the first place. And that pretty much goes for all the top guilds on different servers.
Yeah, EQ is different now and people don't take it as seriously and people that do take it "too seriously" are commonly mocked etc. But for fucksake it's sad to see people acting so hilariously bad and shamelessly. A top guild is more than a group of people that get the first kills on a server. Much, much more. And that is why nobody respects these so called top guilds anymore. Faceless, RoI, AoS, etc. You don't act in a way deserving of awe and respect? You aren't gonna get it, and instead you're going to keep desperately trying to get people to stroke your e-peen and nobody is going to do it, because you act like retard(s). Trump is the President. Does that mean he won? Does he have respect and awe? These modern top guilds are the equivalent of Donald Trumps, sure, they got past the post first, but nobody cares or respects them for it, because they got there in a shitty way and haven't earned any respect.
And that's why these modern top guilds will always have such shitty reputations and often be laughed at, mocked and hated. The top guilds of old didn't have that, they had respect, and that was back when being the top guild meant innately cockblocking people below you.
A real top guild won't have members running around acting like that, because they'd have never made it in and if they did they'd be booted out so quickly. Ahhh, missing the days where respect and reputation mattered. The modern top guilds are full of autists that didn't make the cut in good guilds back in the day, so think rushing past the post first now makes them the best.

Any p99 player for X years who doesn't know SolB or Guk like the back of their hand is full of shit. I still don't get the appeal of SolB for level grinding though. Even back in classic it sucked compared to number of camps/available mobs when you look at Guk.

BINGO! I was like dojii.. name so familiar everytime I saw a serverwide. Fuckin apok leader. Trash. Cried all over the forums about needing a rotation, gets one that DBG forces THE GUILDS to create and then submit to DBG for approval, takes months for the guilds to agree upon a rotation becaues apok would always disagree and cry to DBG that it wasnt agreed upon by them prior to submission, then the moment one is agred upon, APOK breaks rotation and gets suspended they cry to DBG and get UNSUSPENDED and the rotation abolished this was the hugest red flag that DBG was a dysfunctional company and continue to be.
I remember my buddy had a cleric in apok in classic ragefire, he quit and let me use cleric. I left it in apok all the way until I left for phinigel, all they would do is conspire how to fuck TL over. it was real toxic, even like your random daily chit chat was all TL focused. constant scheming cause they couldnt stand toe to toe with TL and not lose. such an unhealthy environment and they thought we did the same in our guild chat lawl

The folks I've been grouping with from Faceless haven't jacked anyones camp and have been pretty damn friendly.
When Dulu was on teamspeak the other day I ripped him a new asshole for fucking with those people. He kept trying to justifying it saying he "needed" it for a quest. I was like sorry that shit doesn't fly, you are a fucking asshole, learn how to get along with the community and stop giving us a bad name.

Because there is still not enough for everyone to have their personal own. Especially when you mix krono into it, attach some $ value to a camp and people become downright dirty, especially at high profile camps. It's crazy how much of a krono craze EQ is for a lot of people, they can have hundreds and they still want more, if only just to hoard more and tell everyone how many they have.

Not hard to see why. If you're able to cheat, steal and grief your way into 700 krono and then sell them at even $9 a pop on the grey market that's not bad (assuming you have limited or no other income I mean). The retards who fight over Djarn for a few krono are the small fish about it though. Bottom of the barrel is the dudes who fight over hill giants/seafuries so they can get a krono/month and play for free.
The "kings" of the krono market MUST be the dudes who corner the high end tradeskill markets in the opening week of the game.

Can't get 500pp out of two dudes who probably don't have that much on them. But 75PP and someone is much more likely to agree and get your out of their hair as they are a normie with limited playtime and don't want to risk interruptions to their XP grind for the few hours a week they can play.

I dunno, can you move that amount of krono and not be noticed? I would think it's a pretty big red flag. Big difference between that and the guy selling a few here and there.
Someone in guild mentioned besteva, who boxes huge army on LJ and does the idols first on every TLP not to mention other tradeskills, has hundreds and hundreds of krono(think it was said like 900+) but wont sell them because its pretty damn obvious and selling small amounts over time would take forever and not worth it.
