You do know that the "hovers" last I played referenced the benefits of HEROIC stats, right? H-Dex absolutely does increase chance to hit and damage dealt with ranged stuff - but that's just H-DEX. (And I think it's in increments of 5 or 10 that it's noticeable? something like that - never played in H-Stat eras to date so only seen commentary)

It's been heavily tested. It's just proc rate. If you don't have procs it is useless. If you do have procs it is still not worth trying to gear for over real stats.

Theres test dummies on test in Lake Rathes arena you can leave your character attacking for 8+ hour parses (psssst its been done 100 times, dex is trash).

I thought it was 2ppm base with 1ppm gained from max Dex? Regardless I know we're both right about it being 1ppm more with max dex, I just thought 2ppm was the base not the net.

Well, he's right - when it comes to H-Dex. But that's irrelevant until Time for this server.

Unless you're talking about Bloodfrenzy, Eth Destroyer, or Hammer of Divinity's that have proc mods your base proc rate is 1ppm at 100 dex.

How do people still not know what EQ stats do in a ~18 year old game?

Dex is and always has been solely about boosting proc rate. And as said, it is a fairly trivial amount.

Im more talking about monks who try convincing me that dex is super important, and then lose out on DPS to me. it makes me chuckle

Because a lot of things are different on this version. There didn't used to be things like weapon proc augments n such so I figured maybe they updated how useless dext was to actually be worth a shit.

I believe technically it influences crits slightly as well - but most classes can't crit until Luclin anyhow. But yea, DEX is basically garbage tier for stat-planning. Resists, STA, STR (and >75 AGI if you're a fatty or erudite) are all a melee really should care about for a while. By the time DEX begins to matter the DEX buffs are so insane it's trivial to cap with shammy buffs anyhow.

Thats because crits are treated as procs.

I swear he'd make me summon him 10 stacks of throwing daggers before every raid if I was boxing my mage.

Actually though, come to think of it, it wasn't Phin, it was the server before that.
