I was most curious about this, wasn't the last time we saw him he set off for a cure? So that takes him to this city full of knowledge, which seems logical, but it seems like they just lock those fuckers up in pitch black prison cells. Wonder how (or if) he gets out.

Dunno, if he turns into Ben Grimm its gonna be a bit lame. But him taking a bullet for Dragon Queen is a big cliche. The beginning of GoT was all about cliche smashing, the end is looking like its not.

Episode was good, not great. I am constantly astounded at how triggered some of you get by the most random shit. "oh.. he wants women to fight?! Bullshit SJW faggotry in my GOT!" ok broflake. Jon wasn't saying all the women had to become full fledged soldiers on the front line, just that every citizen should know how to handle themselves, if needed. They can still do all the logistical/support stuff, but if they get cornered by a wight, maybe they'll be able to defend themselves. That just seems like basic common sense, ffs. Imagine if this was walking dead, you'd be on the opposite side saying how much you hate helpless whiny bitches, who can't handle themselves like Carol. Jon just wants more Carols around.
and considering that interview GRRM recently gave talking about how Beric was being setup as a 'fire wight', I think this kind of idea has some merit. Maybe we learn the greyscale guys are all being controlled by some 'Day King' (lord of light??) and he's the real bad guy or something. I realize that seems a little far fetched, but the obvious answer is rarely where the show goes. It fits thematically with the fire vs ice too.

Nah, they can't bring back The Hound and then not have Cleganebowl. At this point in guessing Arya has to find a way to dispatch The Mountain on her way to Cersie. She takes his face just in time for The Hound to make an appearance.

They made it a point to show a dead woman among the ranks of the army of the dead earlier in the episode, actually made me think "they have an advantage in numbers since they're using all of the dead" at that moment. Probably not a coincidence.
Since we had a teenage girl murder several dozen men in the very same episode, I don't think GoT's women are in need of any further empowerment.

It isn't even just women. Remember Hardhome? The fucking little kid zombies swarmed like zerglings and could take down people. You have an undead army that does tire and doesn't give a fuck. Little kid? Old woman? Young woman? Just more potential soldiers for the undead army. There is no traditional siege or waiting them out or treatment period...you basically have a giant wall of undead blitzkrieg your position and you either hold or die. And anyone who dies inside your walls could potentially become undead and start attacking within the walls. Even if you can only achieve a 1:1 KD ratio with crap training, at least you are ensuring the army doesn't get any bigger.

They are also using anyone 10 and up. Jon is going to send women and children to war because that is how dangerous the night King is. Jesus it took less than 2 hours for someone to call this crap.

Neither did I. I thought it was a great episode, mainly because of the hound's scene. He is my favorite character in the show. After re-watching the entire show again, I love how the dude tries to do right, but his life has sucked so bad he only knows how to express himself in the most vile ways possible. Someone earlier said "now that he has a conscience," and I disagree. He always had one, he just had no fucking clue what it actually was or how to express it. I will just second/third/forth the going opinion that this episode did a good job of setting everything up, and getting all the pieces into their needed places to move towards an epic conclusion. I just hope that the slogs of seasons 4 and 5 (4's biggest sin to me was its absolutely flat and unsatisfying payoffs) were more the show runners trying to follow the books at least somewhat which are bogged down and bloated at this point, then their own sins and what is left will not suffer the same fate. I don't care who wins, just don't have it happen by some lame misstep or assassination plot by poison. Make Cersei goddess empress of the known universes, but do it by her decisively destroying all of her foes in the process.
