Tempting... I'd hate to read it in a browser though. I like the feel of a dirty paperback.

I just finished the first 3 Mistborn books. I really like them actually, despite some problems. I started the Stormlight books, only a few chapters in but I just find it really confusing right now. May be I'm just not in the right frame of mind to start a new book. Probably going to give it a week break.

Read the rest of the Mistborn books and all his other stuff. He's got the ambitious goal of tying all his books into a cohesive universe.

The Way of Kings starts out REALLY slow. I found it genuinely to be a slog for about the first 2/3rds. It definitely picks up in the last third though, and the second book is excellent, apart from a few minor quibbles.

To expand on that, all of Sanderson's books take place on different worlds in the same universe. For most of the books, this fact isn't really mentioned (except for the fact that Hoid shows up in all the books), but Stormlight is where it starts to become relevant--it's still not the focus of the story, but it starts to become more visible.

I dunno, I wouldn't break it up into the first parts vs the end parts. Kaladins current time story is good from pretty much the beginning.

The problem is Shallans stuff is boring and Kaladins backstory is good but slow.

Shallan's story gets a lot better in the second book, imo.

You also learn a lot more with later Mistborn books. You really need to read up to the Bands of Mourning and then read Secret History.

The Cosmere is an awesome concept and we have so much to learn yet.

Last I saw the cosmere was going to be 37 books. That might have changed with him doing Wax and Wayne books

Was looking at the Coppermind wiki, and it looks like he has two more Mistborn cycles after Wax and Wayne, one set in a 1980s timeline and one in a SciFi timeline.

Add to that the buttload of Stormlight books coming, the two new tomes of Elantris, plus some various books here and there. God, Sanderson is a machine.

This is for those who have read the chapter releases:
Is it too simple to believe Adolin has gone off the deep end with the new murder? Or is it possibly tied to the Ghostbloods?

Adolin gonna be the new with lord. It's not a coincidence that my phone autocorrected Adolin originally to Adolph

I found Kaladin's backstory slow and really uninteresting. Shallan's story was just meh. The current timeline Kaladin story was really slow I thought until about the time he gets left out in the highstorm, or thereabouts. After that it starts to pick up.

It took the second book to really redeem a lot of what was bad about the first book, IMO.

I don't buy into the whole Adolin-is-gonna-be-bad thing. He dindu nuffin that didn't need to be done, because fuck Sadaes. Sanderson's gotta be more subtle than that, right? Adolin was totally surprised by the copy-cat killer, it seemed to me. Now Renarin is curious, or knows something. Ten-book series, cosmere. I dunno.

Yeah I wonder if it's the Ghostbloods trying to make him take a really big fall and that would undermine all the work that Dalinar is doing.

Well i finished the first Stormlight book. Pretty damn good. Like this much better than Mistborn, and I liked the Mistborn stuff. Already a few hours into the second book. The dude doing the voice, his voice he uses for Jasnah's mom is hilarious. He should not do that. But the story itself is cool as shit. Has he made any statement about how long this series will be?

I'm sure I'm not the first to point out the repeating theme in Sanderson's work about the underclass and the privileged class and the hero arising from the underclass who despises those from the privileged class, only to have that dynamic upset by Person X from the privileged class.
