McGregor vs Mayweather - Aug 26

Got about 12 people coming over to watch, they're all bringing liquor / food. The bars around here were charging like $25+ for a seat, we decided this would work out better. Never hosted a party though, should be interesting. Guess I should put on pants, unless it is one of "those" parties.

Diaz' punches made Conor a little wobbly, but they did not knock him out cold. No way Floyd has the same power as Diaz.

I really can't believe McGregor is less than +2850, much less 285.

Said differently, I can't believe anyone who has never boxed professionally isn't +2850 against one of the best boxers of all time.

Nah we've already figured out we spend nearly a hundred bucks when we got o a sports bar to watch a fight, and then we have to drive back home at midnight. We don't really save much money going to a bar.

You gotta remember that the way those odds are written, it's including giving you back your bet. So for instance if it's +500, you're only getting paid 4 to 1. That other hundo is the money you gave the book. So since you're doing friendly bets, 3:1 looks a little more realistic and fair.

No. If you place a 100 dollar bet at +500 odds and win you get 500 back. but you already gave them 100. So it's 400 profit. That's how books work, you have to give them money first. Among friends you don't do that so you'd just use 4:1 odds. Or give it all to a third party and one guy would give 100 and the other 400 to make it a 500 prize.
