I can't see them releasing another major patch after the raid, saying "can't wait to show you what's next at Blizzcon" in a WoW video is probably talking about WoW so what else? But you're right. They might announce something silly like a WoW tower defense mobile game

What do you guys want to see in a new expansion? I'd love the South Seas thing or another revamp of azeroth. But for game systems? They seriously desperately need to do something about how bad and outdated the AH is.

I think n'zoth would be fucking awesome. The signs are there: the eye boss talking about him, the scar near silithus. I think it could lead to at least part or the world being revamped at least.

I'd really really like them to revamp all these fucking apps into one single GOOD app. Like we have wow armory which is half functional, the legion app which is pretty good, the battle net app. Combine that shit and make it good. Let me do meaningful things outside of the game to keep me engaged. Even a better offline guild chat would be great.

The AH is pretty shitty but at least TSM let's me control and lock it down so the plebs get handled.

Maybe most people wouldn't agree but I wouldn't mind if levelling was more meaningful. Meaning you aren't going 1-60 in 6 hours , actually spending time in the world. I feel like they've streamlined the game too much and lost sight of a part of the game that deserves people to be in it. I know most people hate this idea.

Yeah it's almost definitely going to be Old Gods/Void with all the hints they've dropped this expansion. Eye boss, shadow priest dagger, easter egg for shadow priests after Xavius, Silithus scar, and Alleria taking the void steroids now on Argus.

Also there's a datamined spoiler about Silithus from the next patch if you don't feel like waiting:

Sargeras stabs Silithus with his sword and makes the wound in one of the upcoming cinematics. Speculation is that this is what releases C'Thun and the other old gods, setting us up for next expansion

Next one will be South Seas with the old gods as the main baddies with the threat of the Void lords themselves hanging about. Expansion after that will be full on orcs in space as we battle the void for supremacy of the known universe.

MOP is probably my favorite expansion. They just had the systems right in it. The setting didn't feel very WOW like, and I remember not liking that part. But the lore behind the Sha wasn't horrible from a WOW stand point. I really enjoyed all the raids, even if I did have to raid heroic SOO for like 16 months. Legion was the best at the start, but it really makes top tier people burn out fast. The prospect of having 2 or 3 raid ready (to my standards anyway) toons is just way to much. It has introduced (or at least firmly doubled down) on some of the worst systems introduced to this game. Really not liking the route WOW is going at the moment and I hope some of the top tier guilds like Method and Exorsus speak out against it a bit more. I mean I'm so scared of them nerfing my class right now because I know I'd probably quit. I couldn't stand getting another toon geared up right now.

MOP had the best mechanic they ever put in: scenarios. Which they of course immediately took out and told everyone to fuck off. Having fun content that didn't require a balanced group to wait an hour for as DPS was too good apparently.

Re-watched the Mists of Pandaria cinematic owing to the 5-year anniversary of its release. I may be in the minority, but I really liked MoP. I think I had more actual fun during the Pandaria era than at any other point in WoW history.

I wonder if we will get another cultural-exploration / light-hearted expansion before we set off into a full on epic battle against The Darkne...err The Void.

MoP was my favourite expansion, no contest. Monks were amazing, the setting and the lore was interesting and being myself a kung fu student, I felt more immersed than I should have probably :D
The zones, the farm, the scenarios (damn, I loved those), most dungeons and raids were very nice, we got the troll raid too ;) and a legendary that was amazing in many ways if a bit grindy to get.

Legion is okay, I was mostly displeased by the class revamp and the huge pruning 2.0 (after the already painful WoD one). In the end I always had fun playing this game, I admit I fucking love it, that's why I bitch when they touch it and they shouldn't (of course this is my fucking opinion).

Their idea of revamps are just pouring sand in your anus before they punch the whole fist in. Teach them asshole customers to have fun in our game!

I don't mind pruning but class revamps mid expansion are stupid

I totally agree with you on this. Unless something is majorly broken and not working I would never recommend a class revamp mid expansion. Start of the expansion its annoying but okay but mid expansion can get infuriating. That said if some class is just fucked up and not working sometimes you do what you have to do.

Mists had an amazing leveling experience before you got flying on that island. Just felt like it had its very own personality and the feeling of leaving the Jade Forest the first time and going into Valley of the Four winds to wander around with Chen was great for example

Expansion having probably;y the best raid in the game of Throne of Thunder also helps

I don't get people's love for scenarios. I thought they were bland.

I'm sure people are tired of the monk stuff but it's a prime example. Stagger cap was broken in nighthold. I abused it. Everyone abused it.

Simple fix, put a cap on stagger. So they did - 1000%. But originally they wanted 200% , huh??

Also they went through all these ability revamps and talent revamps to reach celestalons new class fantasy. Made no sense. What they dropped into the game still plays well, but they definitely killed what was fun about the class. Just really confused why they needed to do it at the release of TOS almost a year after release.

Yeah agreed. I just thought they were shittier versions of dungeons. There's still.scenarios, they're just forced and for story purposes

The new invasions are basically scenarios as well so the tech is still being used. I think they have been pretty decently used in legion for the various orderhall campaigns. All this talk of pandaria makes me kinda sad because it was the only wow expansion I never really played through. I was on a gw2 and swtor kick and after being so meh after cata I just could not make myself log in for it. Playing through some of it on alts after the fact I can see the zones were pretty neat and it looked like it had a lot of interesting stuff so kinda mad that I did not play it when it was new.

They may not use them as in MOP but the tech is heavily used. Invasions, story content, and portals are all scenarios.

I agree. I did a lot of scenarios during MoP since raiding is pure AIDS, and almost every one was just 3 people running around doing their own thing. No communication, no (purposeful) teamwork, and overall just a bland experience.

I would find it pretty surprising if they don't announce an expansion. It could be something else but if they don't announce an expansion that would indicate a probably really sizable content drought yet again and they have been doing really good so far pacing themselves this expansion.
