Ah the ol home Depot "turns out I didn't need this one time use tool" trick
try amazon!

i bought a dethatching rake, and it was lost cuz of the hurricanes.

so they sent me another one, then the lost one shows up and i'm trying to return it

then for some reason they send me another one

i keep on requesting return tickets, they give a 5$ credit for my troubles or another month of prime.

Now i see they refunded one rake, and the second one is lost in the mail.

so somehow, this ordeal has netting me a free rake, and extra prime, and i didn't even have to return em to the ups store, cuz these boxes are so big, they barely fit in my car, so they just had ups come pick em up.

There are rumors yet about when Nvidia will launch 11XX or whatever they are going to name them cards?

Pretty sure my 980ti is dying; get constant driver crashes and recoveries that no amount of reinstalling will fix. Only thing that seems to keep it from happening is forcing a downclock on the card, but I really don't want to buy a 1080ti this late in to the life cycle so hoping I can limp along for a few months if I can until a new launch.
What are your temps? Is the fan still working or is the heatsink clogged with dirt or hair?

Fans and temps all are normal, and I'm not seeing anything else like artifacting or whatever. Just the driver crashes/recoveries.

The more I miss with it the more I think it's just some shitty driver or Windows issue. It doesn't ever seem to happen in battlegrounds or overwatch, and those tax my card way harder than the dumb indie shit that it crashes constantly in like battle chasers.

May not hurt to just reinstall windows and see if that doesn’t fix the issue. If it doesn’t, you know it’s hardware related. If it does, all is good. Beats spending money if you don’t have to.

It's almost 100% the PSU. It's always the PSU when we're talking about those dual 8-pin flagship graphics cards.

Try reducing your power target in MSI Afterburner. I don't remember exactly how it was with Maxwell cards, but Pascal generally can run at about 80-85% of normal clockspeed at about 65-70% power target (basically, running it like the mobile GPUs). I doubt that indie shit is taxing your card either way, so see if the reduced power delivery improves things, and if it does, it points to your PSU being overstressed.

For reasons that escape me, the next gen of gaming monitors are not out yet and the primary "good" ones right now are going on 2-3 years old it seems with only minor revisions if any. That's a tough pill to swallow when the big brother (TV) is shitting out major upgrades every calendar year.

My issue is that a true gaming monitor for me at this point must have everything in one package, and a lot of current displays are compromises and branding at huge prices. I mean the Acer X34 has reviews from Q4 2015 posted. That's long in the tooth for a flagship product and new competitive display niche.

On one hand, yes, monitors are the next upgrade to take advantage of modern graphics power - you get nothing going to 300 fps on your 24" 1080p 60hz monitor. On the other hand, the market is terrible and the prices are obscene still. Maybe fears of VR that stalled it for a bit? I dunno.

This is frustrating the hell out of me as well. Destiny PC will be out in a few weeks and I really want(ed) to have a new screen by then, but I'm running into the same conflicting feelings about buying current gen tech as you. I've looked into things a bit and it seems that AU Optronics is the only display manufacturer with the tech level to actually produce a 4K/1440p, IPS, 144Hz, GSync HDR screen and they just haven't figured that shit out quite yet. People expect that the next gen should appear around Spring 2018, but that's way too fucking late god damnit.

Just buy the Dell 27 inch sync for now, its not that expensive if you shop around, and you can probably resell it or re-purpose it when something better comes out. It's not IPS but it looks absolutely fantastic in ULMB mode.

Thing is, the Dell (S2716DG) is consistently over €600 (it's in Dutch, but still conveys the situation) over here, which is something like $700. That's just €100 shy of a XB271HU or PQ279R. All of whom are a bit expensive for a placeholder.

Anyone have a good reliable place to get custom keycaps?

Explicitly I'm trying to see if I can find some brushed metal keys (like the corsairs use) for wsad and space bar because of heavy use while gaming on my ducky shine 4

Not the Corsairs...But this is what I have purchased over the years.

The 2nd link is a full set. Came out pretty nice. Keys are heavy though. More noise and bottom out easier. Also was missing that key next to the FN key.

So I have been looking over parts to upgrade my computer over the last few days. I listed my parts here a couple of times but I am trying to decide on a few different things here.

First question video cards it seems the best bang for the buck by far is the 6g 1060 GeForce right now I am leaning towards the following. Now they have 1060 GTX 3gig cards for about $220-230ish but it seems 6 gig would be the better choice from what I have read. With that being said if I am not running a 4k set up any time soon is there any reason to go to a 1070 or 1080 card? Thoughts and opinions.

On to the second part, I think my mobo is probably the issue with my system locking up so I am going to replace it. While looking at different motherboards and CPU's I was going to upgrade to maybe a i7-7700 which are about $300 with mobos ranging from $150-200 so about $500 together. Thing is I have an i5-4760k and it seems that as far as processors go it's solid and really not in any need of an upgrade. I was hoping I could find a mobo that would handle upgrades but it looks like my CPU is a socket 1150 and the i7 I am looking at is a 1151 so if I buy a new motherboard I either need to spend $200 to keep what I have with no upgrade potential or just say fuck it and buy both a mobo and CPU. Again thoughts an opinions from some of you guys better educated would be awesome.

I want to be as frugal as possible but I am willing to drop about $1000 to get everything back up to speed and running if I have to.

Also on an unrelated note to the above anyone have any experience with decent headset stands. I am looking to buy one of those as well I guess.

I am also gonna buy a new headset the one I have is starting to have some issues but it's about 4 years old it's a Logitech G930 which I love. As they are probably the most comfortable headset I have used for gaming. I was thinking of just rebuying that one but I see they have a newer G933 any of you have one or used one?

My 930s kept disconnecting with Win 10 so I tried the newer gen one. Was twice as bad. Idk. I unfortunately had to drop wireless but at least I got sound quality.

I actually have one of these cheap little Kang nogs lying around somewhere but fuck that noise. I have never had any issues with my 930 and windows 10 but windows 10 sucks shit so I am not surprised. Would be nice to have an operating system without some Cortana cunt or faggots trying to get me to play Candy Crush on their Jew store.

Nah bro

I run Sennheiser HD 598s. I have both open and closed versions set up with modmic 4.0 (they use the same cables so just easy swap). I run it into a Fiio DAC/amp rather than through on board sound.

Considering how many 930s I bought over the years since they are fragile as fuck, definitely well worth it.
