Why are you doing 4+ sets on an exercise and body part splits? I thought you posted a while back you were starting some pseudo SS program.
I don't have a strong opinion about my workout program but leg day looks like:
3x8 squats
3x8 bulgarian split squat
3x8 front squat
3x8 oblique side bends

I'm pretty much toast after that.

Tuco...That's a pretty bad leg routine. I can see why you are toast afterwards. Is there something in particular you are working towards?

You're also not just getting back into weightlifting are you? Tuco feel free to correct me on that assumption if it's not the case.
Ooh fair enough. My mistake.

I'd hop on SS personally if I were just starting out. Starting adding in more volume and iso work overtime.

Nothing in particular, just general lifting.

I'm willing to try something different, but I only have access to dumbbells.

Did yall ever discuss Young, white men who exercise excessively face risk for subclinical atherosclerosis?
I haven't been hitting em as hard since I read about it a few weeks ago. Does this mean us pale faces should just be doing HIIT and minimizing our hearts time under tension?

Don't overthink it. Exercising is good. Maybe you could exercise too much, but you probably aren't doing that.

Maybe I'm mis-reading, but it looks like all of their subjects were already predisposed to having issues (All patients, drawn from the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) study). Not only that, but 3000 people, while plenty for a statistical analysis, doesn't really seem like a large enough population sample.

Say you've got 10% that actually lifted weights similar to what we talk about here. Of those 300, how many did it consistently for 2 decades? And of those, how many of those actual give you a wide genetic representation?

It's very possible exercising had fuck all to do with their issues.

I guess in the end, I'm saying, you shouldn't base any life decisions on a single study. Ever.

Colleges don't do 25 year studies for clickbate. I was doing 90 minutes a day, way over the 3x weekly physical activity threshold they say causes the calcification.

None were predisposed that I read of, and it was a 25 year study. I don't think its outrageous or crazy that they found a racial and gender difference.

What's the recommended level? 3 hours a week? I know I'm not putting in 9 hours a week, I'm way too lazy for that shit.

Didn't do legs for a couple weeks because of the above excuses (travel and then sickness), have DOMs after my leg workout. This is bullshit.

Dumbbell squats and gets DOMS.

Can't explain that
I know right? It's only 200lbs of weight. I think the bulgarian split squats (with 40lbs of weight) is more aggressive though. I'm doing 3x12 on them per leg.

I mean, except reset weeks, I think I've always gotten DOMs from my leg workouts.

Also, barbell squat tucbro

I haven't had DOMS in like a year. And I don't even do iso work for legs anymore, literally just squatting and deadlifting in the 80-90% range for lots of sets and reps.

Also, that study... what the fuck is "white men?" I'm half cuban and a whole lot of white shit. Do I qualify?
