Wewt just got my copy. 1228 ends the story, epilogue starts at page 1229...Holy cow this is a monster.
You son of a bitch, I only buy books to view their length and now you ruined it.

On a more serious note, im going to be tired tomorrow

I will be too, I plan on reading up to and a few chapters past where I stopped with the previews, then read some more at lunch, and do nothing but read after dinner. =)

Getting my copy tomorrow. I'm a book-shelf guy, and need to pick mine up on the way to work. Very jealous of those already reading.

Yup so far so good. As expected, I'm trashed right now - once I adjusted the font/letter size on the ipad this thing is like 2200 pages. I've read 200...... Long way to go, but I'm glad I can stop plowing through non-fiction for awhile. I read Sapiens, Mindhunter & Killing England to cleanse the palate before this - and while all good in their own right, fiction is just more fun and keeps you up, whereas I found myself falling asleep a ton while reading the other 3.

I'm going to make this book last. Get in every little detail and feel. Been waiting too long for this to rush thru.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Sanderson comes out and says the book was over 2k pages, so he had to split it into two and the second book comes out in a month

Only Sanderson would come out with it that quick instead of it being completely written and sitting on a shelf to get released in 3 years so that they can generate a bigger buzz and get more money.

Would be awesome, but he typically doesn't write that way (he pretty much follows an outline according to interviews). I am intrigued about his 41% progress on his "Mystery Project". Wonder if he is starting a whole new series (since he typically alternates writing books from different series)?

He actually kinda did that with the second and third wax and Wayne books. Of course it was announced in advance quite a bit since the editing process takes so long.

It's possible that he only meant that in regards to writing stormlight archive books because they are so much larger than his other books typically are. Either way, that's cool. I didn't go past the first Mistborn series, may have to check out the follow ups.

I’ll be honest, I’m pretty annoyed with shallan chapters and the direction he went with her character so far.

I haven't read the first two books in forever, but I could have sworn that Jasnah was back and about 250 pages into this book I've not even seen/heard her referenced - am I missing something here??

She comes back at the end of book 2, but they don't explain where she is.

A lot to digest. Good book, but it had a looooong stretch of dullness. Story seems like taking one step forward, then being pushed two steps back.
I liked Adolin a lot in this book. Didn't care for the degree to which Shallan split her personality to avoid accepting her past, though her talk with Wit and Adolin's acceptance might have helped her pull herself together (haha!). Dalinar's backstory was pretty much what I expected, glad he pulled through, but I didn't understand the whole "unity" bit. Was surprised that Odium was brought directly into the story. The segments with Lift, Szeth and Sword(?) were pretty good. Human guilt being the cause for the Recreance was kinda weak, unless they thought their oaths were based on the will of Odium. But that doesn't seem to match up with the Wiki info.
