Yeah, forgot about the crossbow bolt and Jasnah being stabbed in the heart.

Guess you have to behead the fuckers at this point.

Injuries still hinder them, healing is not instantaneous, and I don't think we've seen anyone getting back from having his hear/head done in, but yeah, it sure is an advantage.

I think they could be held down and ripped apart to some extent if you could overwhelm them, but their abilities make that very difficult. They basically waded into a large army with little fear of harm. I don't think they're scared of getting hurt in any way.

The fused on the other hand seem to drop like flies even to normal people like Moash.

Elhokar had stormlight in him when Moash stabbed him. You just need to leave the sword in them until the stormlight fades

Yeah you essentially need to drain the surrounding area of stormlight and shardblade them until they run out of their own stormlight. They are killable but it's all about proximity to stormlight and how much damage you can do before they run out of their internal reserve.

Was a pretty shitty scene. That whole sequence of the book was really predictable and you could see it coming from very far away. When they started talking about not being able to place when the vision happened and stuff like that.

I was a little frustrated that after the fact no one was ever like "OH HEY SOME OF YOUR VISIONS HAVENT TAKEN PLACE YET"

Still, I couldn't help but root for them during all this part of the book. Really hoped they could turn things around or at least escape without it turning to such a shitshow.

Elhokar's insisting to go after his wife while it was obvious she was in on the whole mess, ugh.
But fuck Kaladin for freezing when it counted.

Just finished Warbreaker last night. Was a good read.
Really wonder how Vivenna and Nightblood ended up on Roshar though. And wonder what happened to Vasher.
Funny thing, if Vivenna stayed with Kaladin, Adolin and Shallan instead of staying with the Honorspren, she would have found Nightblood straight away.

Edit (Oathbringer) :
Oh, and hats off to Skar, Drehy and Shallan's crew for somehow managing to escape Kholinar with Elhokar's son in tow. I wonder how the hell they did that.

re: Warbreaker and secret identities

I wondered if Azure = Vivenna then maybe Taln = Vasher. I think I thought this because I got Ash and Azure confused during the end of the story. So much shit going on it demands a reread and a whiteboard with strings and shit to connect the dots.

I looked it up and see that people already made the connection that Zahel = Vasher. I knew something was up with Zahel but I hadn't made that connection at all.

In some first drafts of the Way of Kings, Vasher was a character. Sanderson decided to move him to Warbreaker and when he was tying all the cosmere stuff together, brought him back as a worldhopper.

Renarin is on his own special plane of existence. I know Sanderson has stated that Renarin exists somewhere 'on the spectrum' but even still he's got all kinds of weirdness going on.

Personally I was let down that there really wasn't a lot of new Radiant stuff going on. Lots of 'lashing' and stormlight illusions as we had already seen. Renarin got turned into NPC cleric after a while and they essentially ignored Soulcasting as it was too much of an 'I win' button.

About Renarin
I have a feeling Tarav-whatever is going to try and kill / remove Ren going forward due to him being a wild-card he didn't / cannot predict. Also, I wonder if Odium noticed that as well.

I almost felt like Adolin was going to bring is shardblade back to life.

I think this is definitely what almost happened, and I wouldn't be surprised if it does. IMO Sanderson has Adolin on the long-road to radiant-hood, but it almost seems inevitable. He himself even pointed out how since the Radiants came back he's relatively increasingly less important and useful despite his skills, and it seems to me that he'll probably end up as one, especially since both his father and brother have; and the way he'll do it is by somehow reviving the dead spren from his sword.

On another note...

I'm really curious what the end-game is here. How does this go on for another 7 more books? There has to be a lot more going on than what we see right now. It's also mentioned that at one point the desolations were going on nearly every few years - where did all these parshmen come from to feed that supply of troops? How does a desolation even end? And what's Odium's end game? By that I mean I don't understand how the desolations actually get him closer to killing cultivation and being free, which is supposedly his end goal.

And then of course there's the question on how Odium came to be the god of the parsh instead of the humans, and Honor the opposite with Cultivation just sort of...being there.

I think Honor was originally a Parshendi god.

Also I have a feeling Adolin's story is going to be kind of critical when it comes to the old Shardblades, and his is definitely coming back to life.

As for Kaladin, I have a feeling the Fourth Ideal he can't say yet is somethign along the line of
"I will accept the death of those I could not save"
Because, god, he seems to have a hard time with that.

Yeah, at first when Adolin ganked Sadeus I thought Sanderson was taking him down a different road. I like how at the end, hes basically come clean and his attitude is just "look, it needed to be done, I did it, sorry not sorry." I thought that would somehow be translated into a roadblock between him and radiance (radiantism?) but it looks more like he is somehow bonding with his dead spren anyway. Really pleased with how that whole thing turned out.

Yeah really glad they didn't make a big deal out of this.
House Sadeas is out anyway, so nobody is left to care.
Amaram's dead, Sadeas' wife is exiled, and most of House Sadeas soldiers are either dead or fled with the parshmen after the Battle of Thaylen Fields.
Speaking about it, I'm also really glad Amaram got ganked. Rock is the real MVP on this.

I also felt like it was going to be like a Star Wars Darth Vader type story after he killed Sadeas. I'm glad he didn't go that route.

Rock is an amazing character
