it will finish. in tv format.

my bet is the dude has no concrete, detailed ending for the series and just a basic outline (which he gave to the show writers). he might be waiting to see what they do with it and then base his ending off that or he may just never finish the thing.

gonna get the show at least, which is all i care about at this point.

Yeah, I read most of the books when I was in high-school and thought they were really cool. Now that the show is out, and I don't have the same time to read door-stopping novels, I will admit that I have more of a desire to see the show's ending.

And I don't think the last book will ever come out. I will just enjoy the show ending.

I've been waiting for more story about Samwell at the Citadel as well as Jamie and Brienne for over ten years and that mouse fart worth of plot advancement in the last book doesn't count The last time I had to wait anywhere near this long was with The Dark Tower and boy do I not feel rewarded for my patience on that one. Are there any shining examples of a series taking this goddamn long and not ending up shit?

Quick googling says LOTR took 17 years. Gone with the Wind, Catcher in the Rye, and The Brief Wonders Life of Oscar Wao took a decade each. Jurrassic Park took 8 years.

So...there's hope?

Not this year and I bet not next year either.

The Swords Are Drawn

And, yes, I know you all want to know about THE WINDS OF WINTER too. I've seen some truly weird reports about WOW on the internet of late, by 'journalists' who make their stories up out of whole cloth. I don't know which story is more absurd, the one that says the book is finished and I've been sitting on it for some nefarious reason, or the one that says I have no pages. Both 'reports' are equally false and equally moronic. I am still working on it, I am still months away (how many? good question), I still have good days and bad days, and that's all I care to say. Whether WINDS or the first volume of FIRE AND BLOOD will be the first to hit the bookstores is hard to say at this juncture, but I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018... and who knows, maybe two. A boy can dream...

That fat fuck is never going to finish this series. Plus side for me and all other decade plus book readers: new content on HBO from now to the finale.

Someone else said it earlier but it was so fucking outlandish I didn't believe it. But it's true. since 2000 and Bill Clinton, we've had more US presidents than books published. That's 8 years of Dubya and and 8 Years of Osama, and soon to be 8 years of Trump.

Facebook just reminded me that exactly six years ago I finished reading ADWD.

Sorry to bump this but it's been a good year since I checked this thread and there still isn't anything new to report lol. So sad. I'm guessing WoW won't be out until at least 2019, if ever.

It's the usual time, and I'm making the rounds on "predictions for 2018" blogs and articles... And I found a madman.

Apparently, there are some that confident enough to predict that...

George will publish Winds of Winter in 2018!

Did anyone expect anything else? When I read Feast of Crows at release I realized he had no fucking idea what he was doing in 2005 and checked out of the series. No regrets nearly 13-years later and he's only managed 1 book.
