I’m eating strawberry Toaster Strudels as I read this thread.

Toaster Strudels are legit.

No lie, one of the best relationships I've ever had was with a girl who loved toaster strudels, but didn't like the icing. I got the whole icing packet to myself every time.

Toaster strudels are basically like eating two bread flaps with diarrhea between them

Just kidding they're wonderful. Wish they came with more than 6 in a box

I ate far too many pop tarts in my Iraq days. Haven't touched them since or anything similar.

One thing they never tell you about Iraq/Afghanistan. Despite it all you are supplied with a literally endless supply of a few things. Honey Buns (some generic industrial version), Pop Tarts (but only blueberry, strawberry and the one without frosting), those Otis Spunkmeyer Muffins, various sodas, non alcoholic beer and Rip-Its (cheap redbulls).

Local potato chips that came in weird flavors were also common. Mostly their ketchup flavor that doesn't taste like ketchup at all. Now we have ketchup chips in the US that I still hate. Fuck ketchup flavored chips fam.

Along with these local bad boys. Energy Drinks that are 10x stronger than rebull and have some nicotene derivative in them because there's no FDA in Iraq. I drank half of one one time and puked my guts out.

Taco Bell Stackers... how do they stack up? This sudden resurgence of 'dollar menu' items is quite interesting

not bad for $1, but if they ever raise the price on them they won't be worth it anymore.

Did you ever get the caffeine gum? Remember some office was pushing for that and smoking alternatives (nicotine) at one point

I never had it no. Maybe it came around after my time in Iraq. I was there around 2006-2008.

I highly doubt they pushed hard for smoking alternatives. Iraqi local cigs were $0.25 a pack and super light. Everyone smoked them all the time really.

Comparing the stackers to the mini quesadillas and the chili cheese burrito (RIP), I'd go as high as $1.50 for a stacker.

After a little googling, it looks like the Taco Bell app is supposed to let you order chili cheese burritos if the store sells them, but it doesn't always work. There's nothing but question marks around me on ChiliCheese.org: Taco Bell Chili Cheese Burrito Locator so it looks like my life has a purpose for the next couple weeks while I get this shit figured out.

the chili cheese burrito (RIP)

This and the original grilled stuft burrito with extra baja sauce are my two favorite Taco Bell items of all time. My local Taco Bell has only brought the CCB back once.

I mean they seem to have more meat and cheese than a normal soft taco. I personally like them, but I grab a side of spicy ranch to dip them in. They are basically just a bigger and better beef quesadilla thing that was on the dollar menu originally.

I don't remember exactly what the original grilled stuft burrito had on it that made it so much better than the new XXL version, but the new one tastes like a total waste of money and I loved the old one.

It's always surprising to find a grown man with the palate of a 5 year old. Even more surprising if they're not ashamed of it.

Eh, as someone in a similar boat to Noodle - it's really just not a big deal to me.

Frankly, I'll eat all the same stuff if I've got them dissected into their component parts too - I just don't like my food mixed in "inappropriate ways". (With the notable exception of pickles - I can't stand 90% of pickles solo or combined)

For me, it mostly comes down to the textures varying within a bite really sets me off. If it's something like a stew, throw in everything in the world and it doesn't matter, because everything kind of cooks down into the same texture.

But at the same time, I'll try basically anything - I might pull it apart to get around my texture issues if there's a texture "conflict" to my tastes - but I'll eat damn near anything short of a Good Mythical Morning skit. But I'd rather have a meat/rice/cheese/etc taco with a real salad on the side than a shitty mini salad mixed in with the bites of taco.

i actually did the side of spicy ranch thing with them, too. but that's just the thing -- its no longer a 99cent item then, its a 1.29 item. and if they raise the price to 1.49 like they do with a lot of 99 cent promotions, it'll end up being a 1.79 item with my side of spicy ranch. and at that point i'd rather just spend a bit more and get something even better.

It was the baja sauce. But the new one also has their god awful "guacamole" on it.

yeah, Taco Bell used to have pretty much the best fast food guacamole, because they were pretty much the only fast food guacamole. but now even McDonalds' guacamole is better.
