Haha, what a lump of shit. I really had a sliver of hope he would come clean. Instead, he just quadrupled down on his lies. Maybe he'll have his Lance Armstrong coming clean with Oprah moment in ten years.

Condition of his return should be not being allowed to reference his fake NFL career again.

it didnt have to end this way. there was nothing preventing you from showing off your pay stub if you just blanked the name out. we would know if its real anyway.

What sort of mental imbalance would cause someone to go down with a lie like this? If the check really existed, the convoluted plan to teach Araysar about life and love or whatever made zero sense, and when that wasn't working any normal person would have just shown the check. We all know there isn't one, because if there was any of us would have gleefully posted it if we were in that position, pulling off one of the greatest "gotchas" in forum history. So since we all know it was fake, what would have been the real end result of him copping to it? Ridicule? He already got that plenty. Worry that Curt Schilling was going to find out and claim righteous vindication? Doubtful that he even remembers Ut at this point.

I just don't get it. Mental instability doesn't even seem like enough to warrant this. I'm so confused.

Sunk cost fallacy in action. He's been so deep in lies he feels like he's already invested so much in those lies that he can't change course now. He thinks it would damage his reputation with others without realize his continuing lies is what is actually damaging his reputation (such that he had any).
