I use it because if I don't my beard physically hurts my face. I knew posting it opened me to ridicule.

AE Strandmoks starting clicking on the right foot when i set it on the floor so I sent them back. They're just refunding my money because they can't fix the clicking and they dont make this shoe anymore. Wasn't expecting that since they claim to be able to rebuild shoes and make them last 1000 years and all that shit.

On the bright side i can't remember exactly how much i paid for them but i think i made $100 on the deal.

AE are cheap and I don't mean just $ wise, sorry to break it to you bro. Entry point for good dress shoes is about 500$, boots can teeter to maybe mid 300$'s.

Anyone know a decent reliable company/place to get long sleeve button ups that don't look retarded if I don't tuck them in?

Proper Cloth. Just make sure you know your measurements and are familiar with how fabrics fit.

Sounds like you are definitely the mark for $500 shoes.

"I simply won't put anything other than John Lobb on my feet"

Entry point... hahaha. K bud.

John Lobb is overpriced. What I'm saying is sub 500$ you're most likely gonna end up with blake stitched at best soles with subpar leathers. I wouldn't pay more than 1k+ for a pair unless it was a rare cordovan (lighter colors), made to order, or the style is just super unique (hardly ever the case). The sweet spot is 450-650 and you'll end up with a pair of shoes that will last you for a life, maybe only needing a few resoles.

Sounds like people are salty because they're stuck wearing AE, HM, brooks brothers and banana republic. Don't be salty bros. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Glad to see one person has a good head on their shoulders in this thread (McQueen).

Don't be ashamed. I'm a regular beard balmer. These slobs wouldn't understand because they spend the majority of their time on their couch playing xbox thus no need to keep their neck beards in check.

AE's not that bad. Their customer service is fantastic. I only had to return my Strand's once because the heal was falling off, my chromexcel strand's (forget the name~) for squeaking, and it only took them three tries to get the stitching on my Normandy boots straight. Just don't pay full price. :emoji_ok_hand:

AEs aren't bad, aside from the fact that their QC has slipped a little as they've gotten bigger. They're a good made in the US shoe for a decent price. I own/have owned Aldens, Carminas, AEs, Rancourts, Vibergs, among others. AE quality is comparable and their customer support is by far the best out of any I've had to deal with.

I should add that every time I've had a problem with a pair of AE's, they've had them back to me within a week.
