For Godtear they send you all the limited production run models. If Guildball is any indication those models will sell for above retail.

Steamforged is a pretty good company. Dark souls was just the bad apple of the bunch all of their other stuff has been top notch.

I would expect Dark Souls to get a major rules update. Guildball initially sucked (to me anyways) but their yearly model balancing really fashioned it in to a great game.

It might not though. IIRC the designer on Dark Souls was DC and he pretty much sucks as a designer. Not real sure why they hired that guy other then they all used to play Warmachine and have a hard on for former PP employees.

Yea i'm not a fan of most of DC's work (see convergence in MKII Warmachine). They hired a ton of PP employees and fanboys when they started, Guildball has kind of grown into its own at this point though and even though i dont play anymore, the evolving story and continual balance updates makes it appear to be a good game, at least from the outside.

I spoke to the steamforged guys at NOVA this year and they weren't pushing Dark Souls very hard and had a huge stack of them, i think they were even giving away some of the free KS stuff if you purchased that day. hopefully they learned from their mistakes.

Oh shit, I didn't know anyone else from here went to NOVA. Already got my hotel room lined up for this year. It's my favorite convention of the year.

I liked Convergence I still play them on the regular and enjoy them. I get why people didn't like them. High Command was a fucking travesty. I don't really understand how that made it to market. Haven't played Dark Souls but it sounds like the same issue. The game just isn't fun. Though one of the Warmachine forums I visit all the board gamers over there love Dark Souls.

Steamforged has done well with Guildball. I feel like a lot of that is the balance and testing Jaime P puts in. I hope he works on Godtear.

I live right down the road from crystal city where NOVA is held so i usually attend. i didn't play last year just spectated but the year before i was in the masters tourney (didn't do so well) for WM.

Godtear is looking good, i didn't go in for a backers kit yet but its tempting. Im either going to pick that up or Judgement.

I keep looking at Judgement then I go to their official youtube and the game is so god awful on there because of their set up that I turn off the videos in like 2 minutes. Like perhaps your official youtube channel shouldn't be using Warpwoles for models since that's a totally different company.

If you haven't tried it, give Shadespire a fair shake. It's the skirmish game I have been looking for for years. We play the shit out of it now.

This is live. If you enjoy deck builders and co-op at all this is the best one I’ve played. I have the first two, excited for another.

Now shipping!:

Nice. Report back, that one looks fun, I didn’t back it due to already having too many (I don’t get much game time), but I’m still interested in how well it plays.

Played 2 Kickstarters tonight (no Hexplore It yet)

Corporate America - Corporate America Gilded Edition Preorder
This was fantastic. We played it twice with 5 players. The second time we doubled the number of executive order cards to increase game length. One of those simple but complex games, it's rare to have a game come along where everyone wants to play it again after playing it for the first time.

Unstable Unicorns - Unstable Unicorns | Card Game
Finally played this, dropped almost $200 on this buying 2 copies and a bunch stuffed animals of gifts that ended up being my wife's X-Mas present (because Unicorns). Was a simple but fun game with a bunch of absurd cards because I have the NSFW stuff all shuffled in.

Heavy Hitters is shipping atm, bought this one on a whim cause im a sucker for giant robots and i kind of got a monpoc vibe from it.

i was looking for something that is just a beat em up i can play with some of my more tactically deficient friends =p (they always want to play zombicide).

Hex was pretty cool, first run through (5 players) took ~11 hours but that's with learning from scratch till we beat the end guy. Also ~6-8 blunts so ymmv.

Combat seem either awkward or we don't get it fully yet. Scaling the difficulty during play seems forced, but ultimately necessary because it goes from 'everything can 1 round us' to 'we can 1 round everything' quickly. Group enjoyed it, played 2 man the next day, 3 early wipes then a 3 hour victory. Classes and abilities are surprisingly diverse given how simple/awkward/confusing the combat system is.

It's going on the 'good games we play often shelf'.

That's good to hear, I think. Just got mine earlier this week, not sure if it'll make it to the table this weekend. Really like the quality of the boards.

Received this Kickstarter dice tower today, it’s pretty kick ass. Solid, heavy, quiet.

That looks really good. Never thought to look on kickstarter for them. Was using shoe boxes using the boardgamegeek guide until I saw that link to broken token organizers and that picture looks to be an even bigger jump in quality from cardboard to punch board wood.

Ha, looks like the Monolith Batman board game crashed kickstarter. No early bird offers at least. $140 for base game and stretch goals and $320 for base game, all xpacs and stretch goals. Didn't get to look at what was included before it went down though.
