Quick update: company pretty much told me to go fuck myself. Said the only thing they could refund was my shipping for today since, surprise, I still don’t even have my passport in hand. Asked them what they expected me to do since I leave tomorrow morning and can’t cross the border (didn’t mention the edl because that shouldn’t matter since they didn’t provide the service I paid for) and they told me they could try to ask FedEx where the package is and to just wait a few more hours to see if it shows up. Asked about a partial refund at least and they said nope, the charges are for the processing time, it doesn’t matter when you actually receive it.
Time to go the ol’ CC dispute route.

Wife is bad at parking. Horrible depth perception. Constantly give her shit about how when it comes time to park just clear your mind and focus on it for the 10 seconds it takes. She went up on a concrete parking barrier that had one of the spikes poking out of the top and it fucked so much shit up when she backed off of it. Compressor / evaporator / horn need replacing so far and I'm not done checking stuff.

We've got a guy like that here too, he drives me fucking nuts. His thing is saying a word that sort of sounds like the one he means to say. I'm horrible at remembering specifics, but along the lines of the Mandolin Bay thing. It is like he gets tongue-tied or something because half the time it isn't even a real word, it is just a mish-mash of sounds that sort of resemble the real word.
The one thing he does that drives me absolutely batshit will sound sort of dumb unless you had to hear it every fucking day, multiple times. We deal with door closers, the thing at the top of a door that swings the door closed, has an arm on it, usually a plastic cover. You've seen a million of them and probably never really thought about them unless they broke. If you're in an office building, look up and chances are you'll see several within your view. Anyway, I've worked here almost 20 fucking years (yes, kill me, I know), and the entire fucking time this guy has called it a "closure." I've corrected him probably over a hundred times in those years, even to the point of telling him that closure is what he needs to get from BOTH of his ex-wives (he's about to marry #3 soon too, no idea how any woman thinks he's a catch), not a goddamn door closer!
He also tells every story twice, in the same retelling, without any pause where you could even interrupt. Like, "So I went to dinner and blah blah blah and I told that waiter to send it back and make it right. I'm not kidding, I went to dinner, blah blah blah, and I told him, you send it back and make it right." Yeah, I got it the first time Braniac! FUCK!
I think I'm the one that needs some closure. Murder-closure. Allegedly. Just kidding, I'd never do it, don't report me Olscratch, I know you're reading!

Relying on third parties to make things happen, in order to close business. IE; two clients needing a letter of credit from US Bank in order to secure a loan. Fucking bank can't even do that right, in a timely fashion. It's what banks are supposed to do!!! We're three weeks into a process that should have taken 2 days. So, I missed my deadline for February and ate shit because of it and now I'm behind in my goals.

Been nice weather last few days, now today it's 30-40mph winds and rain, turning to snow later but not in time for me to not get rained on for the entirety of my hour walk to work. Very rustled.

We have one of these at work but it's worse. They pretty much design/coded/helped build out the entire company platform in IT so even if you make a casual joke on how something works, let alone actually ask how something works, you get at least 3-4 repeats of the exact A-Z of it all. If you even mispeak slightly, you get the whole spiel and you can't just say "I mispoke, we've talked about this just last week, I KNOW HOW IT WORKS". Really nice person but god damn it's someone that you ask yes/no questions only

Someone I know had really bad basement flooding over the last week, as many people have here. He sent out a call to help rip out drywall and help get the basement cleaned up. You bet! I'm always game to help someone in a tough situation. So me and five buddies show up. He hasn't started, or done a single thing. He's lived with it for a few days, and just asked for help before even starting to help himself. Who the hell does that? If it were my basement, I'd be down there ripping crap out immediately, and if I were overwhelmed, I'd ask for help only AFTER I had put in a good effort to get it done myself.
Once we got there, he made himself busy with other stuff and left us to work on the basement. We stayed about an hour, got a little done, and left. What the heck?
