in high school, family had a four slice toaster, so i would toast the buns and patties at same time. Did it for a months (it was summer maybe) until Mom saw me doing it one day and freaked out. apparently the grease could've caught fire? worked perfectly tho.

That makes me sad. I used to eat at a Johnny Corino's a few times a year when I'd visit the Pigeon Forge area. I won't eat at an Olive Garden. Trash tier on par with Fazoli's but they cause twice the abdominal issues.

Fazoli's is true trash tier fast food "italian". You get better at garbage beer shops that sell the same product. Beer, I've learned, can make even shit tier tolerable. The $6 glasses of Shiner at Olive Garden is fucking exorbitant.

When I was in college the 39 cent cheeseburger days at McDonald's was like my Thanksgiving. Go down there with a $5 bill and eat 12 burgers.

Cici's pizza was dirt cheap and the 5 for $5 at arby's in college. I worked at McDonalds in high school. Pretty much cured me of wanting to eat any. But if the MCDLT came back I might lol.

But I lived across the street from a BBQ place that I could smell their smoker allllll day long that took most of my college food fund. I think the city finally made them move since it was a residential area. Damn now I'm hungry for one of their bbq sandwiches.

My college food place by proximity was Moe's - nachos are elite and so filling - no less than four ladles of cheese you posers. smother in fresh salsa - don't be a snob and only get hot; they all have something to offer. refill chips at least once, by end original chips get scooped up with rest by spoon and piled onto chip. yes. spoon. fuck dipping and breaking. spoon load every bite that isn't naturally set. Red drink always. At the time every receipt was a coupon: free drink or straight up $2 off; every now and then suck out and get a free taco (which aren't bad, but moot when facing like 3K calories of nachos for $6.)

Yeah in AZ we have a small chain called Carambas and it's a fast food mexican restaurant. It's better then most regular mexican restaurants. Dude their nachos are the bomb. 8 bucks and I can't finish them. They are loaded up with everything. Always end up taking them back to work and eating soggy nacho cheese chips.

Lived in AZ nearly my entire 34 year life, and never heard of this place. Just had to look them up. In AZ, there are a number of places that are fantastic for Mexican food. For "fast food" Mexican though, there's no reason to get with anything but one of the "tos" restaurants. Filibertos, Losbetos, Eribertos, Robertos, etc. Filibertos is the most popular, but the knock offs all taste similar. Lol.

Trust me Carambas is better then any bertos place. Bertos are good for late night stoner/drunk mexican food. I like the 10 rolled tacos from filibertos with a shit ton of that hot sauce.

Did the same in high school. However, it was too much bread so I just McGuyver'ed the individual cheeseburgers into double cheeseburgers. Good times!

Moe's is fuckin good (when they're available on Ubereats). Around $14 for three tacos with delivery. Have had a couple month stint where I was craving nothing but ground beef tacos, crispy shells if possible, so a lot of taco bell, or Serranos, or Moe's for soft tacos.

I lived in Phoenix from 96-99 and by far the best thing about that city is Filiberto's. I still don't understand how they could make a burrito that size that's got nothing but meat and cheese in it for like $4. Probably don't want to know either but I still miss that place.

Everything about these places is just massive. Get a quesadilla and it's on their huge tortillas. Get a carne asada chimi and it's 2lbs of awesome.

Up here in the Northwest we have Muchas Gracias which is very similar but not really. Filibertos could roll in and make a killing.

I have an acquaintance who is a chef from Cincy and one of his restaurants is hosting a Cincinnati chili night tomorrow. I'm stoked. Haven't had my Skyline fix in a while.
