Movie was pretty meh. Sound track wasn't too bad, plenty of nice pop-culture references but just doesn't do as good of a job as GOTG weaving them into the dialogue, and doesn't mix seriousness with jokes in a clever way. The seriousness that is in falls flat, and the gags are too hamfisted and out of synch. Having a antagonist that's a kid that somehow befriends Juggernaut by giving him food at some point is just ridiculous.

While I am sure that the people involved with that opera style singing were very professional, I have to wonder how many attempts it took to get through the whole song without just busting up in laughter at the lyrics they were being asked to sing.

I loved the movie.

I liked the first movie more because it was a complete package. Everything about the first movie was as close to perfect as you could get. Given the amount of time involved with making the first movie, it makes sense that it would be such a great story. That being said, the sequel was still well worth watching and very enjoyable.

There was only one area of the sequel that made me cringe. The "Carrying it way to far Death Scene" was tough to swallow. That was close to a "Matrix Revolutions" death scene kind of pain to watch. It recovered well with the AHA moment.

Another part of the movie that felt weak and poorly written was the portrayal of Negasonic Teenage Warhead(Does that name change when she becomes an adult?). The interactions between her and Deadpool in the first movie were awesome. The way they earned each others respect was enjoyable to watch. Apparently in the second movie, she chooses to basically stand around and barely contribute despite being attacked. Watching Firefist knock her back into a structure was fine but her getting right back up and just brushing herself off felt out of place for multiple reasons. I do not think Negasonic's abilities include the strength to withstand that kind of hit. It should have knocked her out with possible internal damage. Even if she could have withstood that hit, her personality would have had her at least starting a charge at Firefist. I could have understood people talking her down, but for her to stand there after a hit like that just felt way out of character. I was hoping that Negasonic was going to redeem that moment by knocking the fool out of Firefist at the end fight sequence but that also never happened. Her character felt forced and written in as opposed to the first movie where her limited time on screen made a person want to see more of her.

The movie was a solid 8/10 as opposed to a 10/10 for the first movie.

Only real gripe for me were the Vanessa/death parts, they just felt so awkward and out-of-place.

green lantern wasn't THAT bad(jonah hex and catwoman say hi).. it was decidedly mediocre. and unfortunately pretty much all of the marvel movies completely destroyed the DC movies in terms of quality and money(except for the batman trilogy and WW).

Although if the batman trilogy came out now it would have significantly higher revenue than what they got (205, 533 and 448 million respectively) so that all three would have been over 500 mil with 2 and 3 probably in the 6-700 mil range.

and ya negasonic imo was done poorly this film, she was there as eye candy w/ yukio basically... and i agree she SHOULD have charged firefist - her power is basically cannonball's though so i can see her not getting hurt cannonball was basically very hard to hurt when his power was "on" buy i definately wanted her to charge the kid when that happened.

didn't know RR did the voice for juggernaut.

Finally caught this. Movie was rock solid, probably better than IW for me. And you guys are bitching about the long death scene and forgetting he set that up by bitching about the same shit happening in Logan at the start of the movie. I actually did not mind photo negative Domino and the diversity shit was treated exactly as it should (no virtue signaling, a few sarcastic jokes, Reynolds walks a tight line perfectly here), namely as part of the comedy and story telling. Disney should pay RR a few mil just to sit around and make viral ads for the other MCU movies, because that dude is on point with his troll and meme game all the time. Having someone really famous playing an invisible guy and only seen for a split second on screen is some grade A trolling, as one example. The cameos were all hilarious and awesome. So glad I avoided spoilers for this, because it actually caught the wife and I by surprise a lot. XForce airdrop scene might be the funniest thing I have seen in a movie in nearly a decade.

Not quite the first one, but probably the best movie this summer (at least for me). And its probably just as rewatchable as the first. The "cleaning up the timeline" bit means they can pretty much go anywhere with this franchise they want, too. I am going to laugh when this outperforms Solo (which it is on course to do).

GF and I caught this. Have to say, I wasn't sure what to expect since the first was so awesome. I really loved this movie, and I was legit laughing so hard I was crying at times. I think I like the first one 5% better, as I think the story was a bit more solid/fleshed out/complete. Previous criticism regarding NTW chic I agree with - she was wall paper this time, not an active character. Was weird seeing Cable so small - and at the end of the movie where they are lined up and walking it was SUPER obvious how short he was compared to the rest of the cast. Still, Brolin did good. And then seeing Infinity War a day later... very good stuff.

Not as good as the 1st one. Kinda disappointing actually.
It had more rom-com moments rather than the silly stupidity of Deadpool.
Laughed once or twice but that was it.
Really liked Domino and Cable being so serious and dark all the time lol
5-6/10

Saw this tonight. I know I'm going against the grain and will be negged, but I really didn't like it. Did Kathleen Kennedy produce this one as well?

Am I the only one who noticed that the camera was offset when shooting Colossus in the X-Men mansion near the beginning.... so that they could prominently display a portrait of Karl Marx in the offset background? Why not Muhammad?

Portraits of old white men make Deadpool feel like he needs a rape whistle, but then later he says not to judge people on the color of their skin.

The fact that there are no fat super heroes is 'industry discrimination' rather than just common sense. I will at least give credit to the fact that they called the fatty a 'diabetic' a couple times. That was nice.

Deadpool accuses some character of 'cultural appropriation' which is a bullshit term and a bullshit concept.

He says at the end that his 'family' came together 'despite some racism', but the only racism I saw was from Domino who referred to Cable as 'the old white guy'. Maybe that is the racism he was referring to, but color me skeptical. I'm sure he was referring to either Cable or himself (them being the two white guys on the team). Deadpool seemed to agree with the general concept of the new Original Sin (i.e. being born white and/or male).

I guess the lesbian/trans couple was handled okay and the producers didn't try too hard shove their particular bullshit down my throat.

Every employee of the evil sanitorium where Fire-Hands came from was a white male.

And then the more generic idea, which is the same criticism I've levied against Family Guy in the past: pop-culture references are not jokes.

Some parts were funny. I loved how Deadpool's whole team died in the parachute scene. That was great. And for some reason I just loved the part where Cable, during the convoy chase scene, shoots 50 bullets at him and he pretends to slash them all up with his swords while they are actually just hitting him and going through him. That part made me sincerely laugh.

The ending was touching and it was kind of funny how he simply wouldn't die.

The action scenes were decent and I liked how Deadpool called the Juggernaut vs Colossus a 'CGI Battle'. The 4th wall stuff is funny and is what Deadpool is all about, but the sjwism and the pop-culture references were just too ham-fisted for my taste. That being said, I doubt I was their target audience.

There was a halfway decent movie buried underneath all the cultural marxism and leftist talking points, but it was really marred by those points and it made it un-fun. Can I go to a movie anymore these days without being reminded of how evil I am for being white? Fucking hell.

So tell me what I'm missing, you guys.

I point out the SJWism in Star Wars and get lots of likes for it, I point it out in Deadpool and immediately get picarded.

I'm honestly confused why this is the case.

Dude, seek some help. You're just as bad as the SJW who search extra hard for "racist" themes or evangelicals who look for secret "gay propaganda" in literally everything.

So let me ask you honestly. Was the Karl Marx portrait intentional or accidental?

Did Deadpool talk about 'cultural appropriation' or didn't he?

Is the fact that there have been no obese super heroes a consequence of discrimination or common sense?

Do white males immediately make you think of rape, Cyb?
