I hope none of you guys liked Mad Max either.

I'll play this game because it's a game that I want to play and the characters could all be transexual nazi's that sacrifice babies to Christ or whatever and if the game was fun I'd still play it. You guys really are the "snowflakes" you whine about now.

Full Jackfrags interview with the design director. In terms of the attrition design, I see PUBG sort of influencing that a bit. Noob players won't notice it too much because they'll die before they run out of resources. More experienced players, though, will need those resources a lot more since they will survive longer in theory.

I was thinking about this after watching the trailer. Leave it to EA/Dice to pull this SJW bullshit out of their ass.

Women and minorities played a huge role in WW2. And that was back home in factories (In the US at least, I cannot speak for other countries) working assembly lines and working massive hours for high level production and manufacturing to continue the major war effort. Without them (Well, and the Battle of Midway) we lose that war against the Japs and they would have been in Chicago by 1943. Instead of this hilarious bionic woman shit, express it in the documentary style videos they did in WW1 in side scenes glorifying that. Because their role was crucial and absolutely 100% required.

And instead of what some lady up there said above in that screen capture, people also need to stop living in the fucking past. Instead of dwelling on what was, how about propping up the REAL stories that bring them to the limelight.

I just want to grab people like that lady and tell them to shut the fuck up. We get it. We know it happened. Now instead of crying about something 70 years ago, how about you get out there and take advantage of how it is today.

Idiots.

Well, and the Battle of Midway

Honestly Battle of Midway is overrated. The Japanese were in no position for a ground invasion of the United States. Losing Midway would have been a blow to our Navy, but the Japanese would first of all still need to take the island (which was heavily defended), then at that point the next step would be Hawaii...again, not an easy task. Meanwhile, US production of arms/ships/etc would still go on as a rapid pace that Japan in no way could match, but we would have a much shorter supply chain. It would have potentially delayed the end of the Pacific War because campaigns like Guadalcanal, Cape Glouster, etc would have had to wait, but losing Midway would not have equated to losing the entire Pacific campaign. We can assume the European front would be relatively unchanged even with the Pacific campaign not going as well (Euro front was always the main priority) and with that unfolding the same way, eventually the USSR would have joined the Pacific fight and Japan would have been fucked anyways.

Considering they haven't shown any actual gameplay or even gone into more specifics about the campaign (that trailer was just a mockup), why not just wait instead of freaking out about a trailer?

Sounds like a further reason to be skeptical.

I suppose...the BF1 trailer had a couple actual gameplay screens mixed in with the rendered stuff if I recall correctly (or at least scenes that looked like gameplay).

Ok real quick. You realize we sunk four carriers in that battle correct? Everything about that battle mattered. It wasn’t about midway island. What it was about was destroying their ability to wage war.

I'm not saying it didn't matter. People making it out to be some binary "we lose Midway, GG war is lost" is silly. The same mistakes they made in Midway could have been easily replicated in other hypothetical battles later.

True. But it all happened so luckily for us. Rearming on the decks, and all four carriers being destroyed. I don’t think people think about the loss that was for the Japs. Midway was midway. The island was going to be used as a staging point for invasion, sure, but the real deal were those carriers. It was a turning point because they lost major naval air support in that battle. Had we not done that, I can assure you we would all be speaking Japanese right now.

Just my thoughts in it anyway. :)

This is what the SJW does. Take an issue, turn it into an extreme, and then call you a nazi racist misogynist when the expected reaction occurs.

Midway was important for a few reasons

1) Japanese lost experienced pilots and officers
2) It showed that Aircraft carriers > Battleships in terms of an investment (Coral Sea did as well..in fact, Coral Sea contributed in part to our win at Midway)
3) It damaged the Japanese fleet enough to allow us to begin the "island hop" strategy
4) It highlighted our need to update our airfleet (a good chunk of American air casualties were the pilots flying in outdated planes)

Many of these takeaways could have easily been replicated in additional engagements. The Allies attacking Japan via land is a completely different situation to Japan attacking the US via land. Part of the reason the Allies were able to maintain a strong offensive in the Pacific was Australia and other holdings there. It shortened our supply chains. Japan taking Hawaii wouldn't have been a strong enough analog to replicate the same. They pretty much would have had to takeover and control Alaska, which would require a sustained land attack investment. Right after Midway they were in no position to do this. More likely, they may have focused on Australia and other Pacific Island holdings to strengthen their position in the event of a Midway win. During all of this, the US is able to rebuild their fleet and also fortify land based positions in Alaska and the Pacific coast. The industrial might of the US during WW2 was insane...we basically shit out tanks and ships like it was nothing, and we had enough internal resources to fund it. Japan was extremely resource poor and industry wise they couldn't match the US. They did not have the capability to hit our manufacturing centers deep in the country either. During this time, the Manhatten project was still ongoing remember. It is extremely unlikely that any Japanese actions in the Pacific would have eventually resulted in the sabotage/delay in that project. It is unlikely that it would have had any impact on the European theater either. Unless there was an imminent threat to the US mainland as a result of a Midway loss (unlikely), then it stands to reason we still pursue a "Europe first" mentality to the war. We still get nukes and Japan eventually capitulates when Stalin decides he wants to fuck up Japan also.

I was wondering when this thread would go from redpill "THERE IS GURL IN MY GAME" to full on WW2 Nerd-fagdom arguments. Wasn't long.
