found a new trick.

cwdt-coldsnap is very strong now.

I threw it in, due to free link on my cwdt. I did it just to have some ground chill...

now I have free 3 frenzy charges up nonstop in maps.(and minion bosses.)

the new aoe is pretty large as well. although, I have a good amount of +aoe in tree buffing it.

Picked this up, it's a word of difference when doing temple in terms of health. I speced out of mind over matter for it though, because it was eating mana for no reason, since this ring basically keeps me full. Single target is a little bit harder, but not too much harder. I think its better overall though. That 12 life gained is massive, because it seems to count every chain and every hit.

Is there any consideration to running gladiator this league as your "tanky" build? The amount of bursty spell damage in incursion seems like it would make it better at defense than Jugg or Champion. Bleed explosions would certainly help with clearing on a bossing character too.

I haven't played CI since they nerfed it a few patches ago. Doesn't seem that great for tankier builds because of lower sustain.

So I have never played this game. How overwhelmed would I be if I jumped in right now? Also how janky is it as a truly FTP player?

Overwhelmed for sure. That's just PoE, a bunch of systems all overlapping. There really is no better time to start PoE than whenever you feel like it. A truly FTP player is going to have a rough time. The only thing worth buying is currency/map/essence/fragment/card stash tabs. Maybe a premium tab if you want to sell shit. How to start? Pick a League Starter build using the forums in the class type you're looking at. I'd suggest a totem build this season for sure (helps with clearing the temple), either Warchief (LiftingNerd) or Arc totems. DL Path of Building and follow that with the Starter guide and learn as you go.

I'm worlds away from creating my own builds, but I understand the game at a reasonable level -- I started playing at the end of last League.

DL Neversink's loot filter and use that, start with it on Strict. Hold down alt to bypass the filter to see everything.

What makes CI so good for incursions?

They have all these motherfucking vaal constructs in there that you usually only see in specific maps that do stupid frontloaded burst with their initial volley of projectiles which can't be evaded or dodged(not sure about block). Usually you can get away with low chaos resist because there's not many chaos dealing mobs but in Incursion they're a lot more common since it's Vaal themed.

Don't know if it's worth going CI still though. The ES nerfs were pretty big and they never really tweaked it back up, while they keep adding more and more life support stuff, like life% mods on various uniques.

As a free to play player you can do anything someone else can do. Stash tabs will help in quality of life. Try it and if you like it add a few tabs like the currency tab and a premium stash tab or two you can trade online with much less hassle. Stash tabs are on sale 1/2 off once a month as well. For $10-$40 you'll be very set for a long time doing whatever you want to do. That's all I've spent on the map. The rest is dress up doll stuff.

I'm starting to get these crashes that people have been reporting, it looks like DX11 texture issues with some items. I had it once in act 7 when talking to Yeena, and now I've had it happen after a shield dropped in act 8. This image was as crash after I walked into town.. I'm guessing someone had this equipped.

Started a ranger and just grabbing whatever looks interesting skill wise. I figure I will 100% have to reroll so I'm just using this to get my bearings. Game feels like a more complex D2.

With absolute shit gear I scrounged up for <10c to do the swap to CI, I started with about 5.5k ES which is now close to 7k (exact same ES armor and rings, all that changed is that I have about 1600 int now and 10 or so more ES% nodes). Good gear for the build I'm using (Whispering Ice Scion) gets up over 10k ES, and the guy who made the build kills everything including uber elder with it. ES does need a buff to get back on par with the life changes, but for this league the chaos immunity closes the gap quite a lot and maybe even comes out ahead if you're just looking at the league content.

I was having a problem with this until I got the ring I posted earlier (+12 hp per mob hit with spells). Now, even with -40% chaos resist, while I take a huge amount of damage, the amount I heal up in the initial hits of arc going crazy keep me alive, so as long as I react fast, I don't die. I even speced out of MoM for it for now because it kept damaging my mana then I was OOM yet full health.

The only problem I'm having now is dealing with the single target damage, but decoy totem is AMAZING for this, its a huge taunt, and bosses always go to it (architects dont seem to though). Vaal Arc hit is really helpful too.

I made a video of it (Though it doesn't have those mobs, so its much easier, but you get the general idea as you can see how fast my health goes up after taking some damage -- bear in mind that this build has nothing special for regen on it - that is all the ring).

Do you play an ES ascendency like Trickster/Occultist or just normal stuff? Anyway might be good this league yeah I don't know haven't played more than a few minutes yet, finishing my current game before I get into it more seriously, I've seen there's a lot of chaos burst but just don't know how much it helps. I might try it though, I haven't played CI in like 4years or whatever beta was so could be fun.
