And yet here you are pretending that a scene from a video game that shows Ellie having grown up and finding a safe enough existence that she can be in a bar/dance hall that has electricity surrounded by other people who are calm enough to have a drink and conversate in a normal fashion is somehow pushing an agenda. All because she kisses a woman.

Pay attention to that entire scene instead of focusing on that one detail. A detail that's already been established in the previous story.

If the story turns out to be an Ellie love story than that would be lame as hell, regardless of if she's gay or straight. Which is what you're trying to say. Except you're pretending that scene clearly shows an agenda being pushed, when it absolutely does not.

No you do not. You're implying that I dislike gays, yet I've clearly stated otherwise, so you're just ignoring that because you''re stuck on the idea that I dislike gays. How many times will it take me saying "I'm OK with people being gay" to make you hear it? I've already explained how I saw the trailer, and I have zero issues with Ellie being gay. I'd just prefer if they didn't make her being gay a focal point of the game.... because I wont care about it, just I like I wouldn't want to sit through a bunch of cutscenes dealing with heterosexuality.

I am not saying that at all. I am saying the entire E3 was full of this garbage. Let me clue you in. NO ONE CARES ANY MORE. This isn't the 1950's. It's over. Everyone is equal. Hence, no one cares. The only people making this out to be a big deal are the same idiots who are either pandering to the same attention seeking agenda, or are like "Welp.... We are accepted and I am no longer the center of attention.... now what the hell do I do with my life? - Oh I know, let's continue the crusade anyway" or they move onto some absurd behavior to bring attention (usually negative but they really don't care as long as they get the attention they missed out on as a kid) to themselves.

Point being, show context as to what was going on in the scene. Because otherwise it's, once again, people feeling it is being thrown in their face and if they are upset, it's because they are sick of having it thrown in their face. I couldn't careless about it, but show the context as to what was going on. If it was Joel and some hooker making out on the dance floor, I would be saying the same thing. What is the point of even having that? What's the backdrop? It was stupid.

And if this scene isn't in the game, I am going to laugh my ass off, because then it was designed specifically to pander and bring attention to a dead topic no one cares about any more because they can't let go of the fact they no longer will receive the attention they crave by being different.

If there is some Evangelical gay-murdering cult in the game, I will be all on board with calling it pandering stupidity. The trailer at E3 however showed a known gay character in a relationship, kissing. That registers about a 0.01 on "GODDAMN THESE PROGRESIVE LIBRULS!!!" meter for me. Ellie is gay. Any kind of romantic angle they give her is also gonna' be gay. That doesn't automatically make it pandering or hamfisted.

Maybe I'm wrong about you, I don't know. But there are A LOT of people on these forums who attempt to guise their bigotry by pretending everything they don't like is part of some giant conspiracy to take over the world. "It's not that I hate these types of people, I just hate when they force everything to be about them". I don't think there is any reasonable way you can draw that kind of conclusion from this trailer. It's completely innocuous as far as any agenda is concerned. It's typical, normal storytelling and it was part of the first game. There is no departure from the narrative they set forth at all nor is there any reason to believe, based solely on that trailer, that we are in for some shit ass story about a young woman's struggle with wanting to fuck a fish or something equally as stupid.

All the hemming and hawing I hear on FoH any time a character isn't hetero and conservative gets old after a while. "THEY'RE ATTACKING US WITH THEIR VIDEO GAME!". It's the other side of the same coin that started gamergate.

Maybe if the genes for gayness turned out to be the the cause for her immunity and changed the apocalypse fungus into a benign friendly fungi that eventually becomes sentient which sacrifices itself so that love and peace returns to the Earth?

You are wrong, simple as that. Not to carry this argument on further, but the interview I linked is what tilted me towards thinking the story could focus on Ellie being gay because they want to be progressive. Its dumb.

Fair enough. Proceeding with caution, I just didn't get an SJW-infested diversity-first vibe from the trailer at all. Again, seemed like it was pointing out the contrast between murderworld and what's probably the closest thing to a normal life Ellie's experienced since the outbreak.

You're not carrying that torch very well and the more you post the more I'm sure you're exactly what I suspect. That interview dispels your concerns, did you bother to continue reading after that innocuous little snippet you originally linked?

Gross wouldn't go into details on what finally ruins this fleeting sense of normalcy for Ellie, but she did say there will be "something really devastating that throws her entire world and sense of self out of whack. The rest of the game will be about her dealing with that trauma, negotiating that trauma, and how that trauma evolves her.

Fleeting sense of normalcy. What's shown in the trailer is likely all we'll see of that side of her. Words directly from the co-writer's mouth.

Honestly, and this will be my last post on the topic so we can talk about the game (Which probably won't be out for God knows how long anyway) is that I feel society has already reached the turning point of acceptance, and the fact people are still talking about it and bringing it up like it's a problem is infuriating. 99.9% of humans on earth do not care. They simply don't. They want to live their lives and don't give a rats ass what anyone else does with their life. So when it is continually being brought up as a problem, when it isn't, it gets old. All I wanted to see was a context for it, and I would have said the same thing if it was a heterosexual couple. Because if the latter, without context, it doesn't make sense then either.

Hell, some people just cannot let this go. When it gets to the point that the "victims" of inequality know they are equal and no one cares anymore, and you have people making up garbage like this: https://nypost.com/2013/12/07/waitress-claiming-couple-didnt-tip-because-shes-gay-gets-fired/ or this Gay Pastor Apologizes After Accusing Whole Foods of Writing Slur on Chocolate Cake that points to me, "Oh no. The attention is gone. We are now normal and no one cares anymore... let's make shit up that doesn't exist because we are addicted to the attention."

This crap was going through my head during that E3 when everyone on stage was discussing it like it hadn't already been standard now for the last 6 years.

Anyway, what was awesome? Ellie was kicking some serious keester in that video and had what appeared to be some fun combat moves so when does this thing come out because I can almost guarantee you her girl crush friend dies and she goes ballistic and loses it. That will be fun to play.
