I think the killing of Creed was stupid - yeah, he got to make his speech, but BP could then have said he was thinking from an earth perspective and returning to wakanda, he could experience the true reality - heal him and move on with him being an active part in NWO

I watched this a couple days ago, 6/10. There are some truly stupid things in this movie, however I will ignore the more overt and obvious things that stood out to me;

  • Klaw was the the only interesting character.
  • Wakanda is a less believable Asgard.
  • Killgore was a lame villain.
  • "We are going to send all these super powerful spears that have the power to blast a tank into dust all around the world... uh oh, time to fight! **Stab stab club hit slap claw stab**
  • If Black Panther's suit absorbas kinetic energy that is stored awaiting release... when he dissolves his helmet while it's charged wouldn't it blow his fucking head off?
  • I don't enjoy Bilbo from the Hobbit in most things, something about his scrunchy face annoys me.
  • Grossly over rated movie.
Pretty sure I am not bringing anthing new to the table here however I put it on par with Thor : The Dark World and Iron Man 3. Back of the pack for the Marvel films.

Wife bought this a little while back and I got around to watching it. It seemed pretty generic? I didn't actively dislike it, but it felt it to be of the caliber of the entry origin stories like the first Thor or Captain America. Enjoyable, but not "holy shit, that was transcendent".

Finally saw this today and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting.

The first hour and fifteen minutes of the movie was pretty great, but as soon as MBJ showed up as the bad guy the whole movie got really cringey. It was certainly a middle/lower-middle of the pack Marvel movie.

I laughed about the revelation that Wakanda became great by isolating itself from others in Africa and refusing to help refugees. I don't think they realized the message they were sending with that bit. Sure they ended it with Wakandan-Open-Boarders at the UN, but everyone knows how that turns out....hi UK!

Not actually, they still had a shield around Wakanda and when Thanos's ships were bombarding the area outside of their protective dome, they gave no fucks for anyone that might be killed there.

This was bad. This civilization is culturally impossible. Killgore is a literal we wuz kangz stereotype.

Word of the day is "colonizers".

I’m not sure where it’s at exactly when I get home I’ll sit down and rank them. I haven’t seen ant man and wasp yet though.

And I dunno, the plot with Killmonger was predictable but I enjoyed the acting in it and I enjoyed how much the country and it’s pwople had impacted the MCU without us knowing, sort of a behind the scenes unveiling.

Story wise I thought it was pretty entertaining and I like the Black Panther character.

It was pretty different all in all, I enjoyed that quite a bit.

Also, how was he able to do anything prior to this movie? He hadn't even consumed the purple plant thing yet.

The movie is fine as long as you don't spend even a single second thinking about it.

He probably drank the purple kool aid when his father retired as BP and gave him the job. Didn't he have to have the powers stripped before the first duel?

That’s what I’m confused about. Did I miss a scene?

King of Wakanda and the Black Panther are 2 different mantles. We are just to assume that he has been the Black Panther for awhile, as he has his powers in Captain America: Civil War.

I think there were some time jumps from when he becomes BP to when killmonger shows up. I'm trying to block this film from memory so I don't remember if there was room for such a thing, but I think it's possible
