Reminds me of the time in basic DIs started being dicks and gave people a hard time about going to the bathroom. Eventually a guy pissed his pants while in formation due to their shenanigans. So guys started saying they needed to make an emergency headcall when asking to use the bathroom. DIs told people if its an emergency they better hear sirens on the way to the head.
After a few days our senior DI told them to knock it off.

I once considered shitting in my pants but decided the time and effort and embarrassment of cleaning up wouldn't be worse than the sand pit/sunscreen IT I'd get it I asked to poop, so I asked to poop. In retrospect it was worth eating some sand and sunscreen. I don't like cleaning poop.

Never had this issue at Army boot back at Fort Sill in 2005. The entire layout of the place made it almost impossible to be less than like 100M from a shitter.
I don't even remember any hilarious boot stories other than the dude who got kicked out because threatened some dude and said he would steal a live round from the range and kill him. Never saw that guy again!
