Star Wars 9 leak: This NEW Kylo Ren and Knights of Ren fight scene is NOT a flashback?

Can't pull a direct video link but CNN talking about sunsetting the franchise.

The drops and trend is real.

Main trilogy trend:

TFA - 2 billion.

TLJ - 1.3 billion

Anthology trend:

Rogue One - 1 billion

Solo - 392 million

Its a major problem. Solo needed 500 million to recoup costs which is why we are seeing major shakeups and projects put on hold.

That's what they need, a dose of reality.

Every film should be ( IS, let's face it ) a huge gamble financially. And all the mistakes / mis-steps they've made, turning their back on the established fan-base, pushing agendas, list goes on. All that, has damaged the brand.

Looking through the threads here, there are multiple posters who are saying "fuck these guys, I'm gonna wait till it's on a streaming site, they're not getting another dollar outta me!!"

So that's good . . . also fire K K

I find great comfort and reassurance in the fact that, no matter how bad things look, this SJW faggotry is always punished by Big Papa Capitalism.

Did you get to see Leia Poppins??

I saw them make Luke into an even more of a Not-Jedi than Hayden Christiansen, but honestly most of the film was a foggy blur because my eyes rolled so hard after watching a WW2 bombing run happen in zero-g I think I actually sprained my occular nerves. Every $200K Sci-Fi film Roger Corman ever made was better than what Disney did with this.

When a movie is so bad I don't even feel the desire to go watch its thread for lols. Been a while since I popped in here. This movie was not good, what disney is doing is not good. The amount of money they are getting from avengers must be sickening if they are so willing to risk completely destroying this franchise. It has been BAD, and disney just doesn't seem to give the smallest fuck.

If episode 9 comes back crushed at the box office it will get their attention. Right now they can blame it on the side films not being as popular. One of the main movies doing something like 500M though would be a big deal.

Box office numbers can be spun a lot of ways, merchandising can't. So when Hasbro came out with their clever line of "we started selling TLJ toys too early" we laugh and know it's full of shit cause padding the sales numbers early saved them from an even bigger hit as the movie came out and sales dropped off a cliff.

i cant imagine their target audience, small children would even want to play with a luke, leia, finn, rose action figure. or some of the ships. as a kid i had luke, vader, obi wan, an xwing and a tie fighter. i renacted scenes from the first movie. what fucking scene is little jimmy going to renact from TLJ?

I actually enjoyed Rogue One for the most part, and Solo was not nearly as bad as I expected. The third trilogy stuff is sewage and whoever signed off on those scripts should be shit canned.

i wish they reported in ticket sales volume rather than revenue. They can (and do) pull shady shit to pad their revenue numbers.

Defiant Theater Owners Are Refusing To Play ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

Never understood why ticket numbers isn't the standard. I realize that inflation is a thing and therefore movies selling far less tickets can make just as much money as movies of old, but it's a terribly misleading metric to measure success. You don't see professional sports teams spouting off how much money they made for a home game's ticket sales, you see the number of butts in the seats. Kind of, I know they fudge the hell out of that too.

Movie success is measured in profit, they don't care how much of a following / fanbase develops as almost all movies are not expected to expand into TV series or novels at all.

Hell, they steal existing fanbases and novels just to make some more $$$ without any care after.

I think it is a combination of context and what is impressive. When youre in an arena and they tell you the turnstile number, it seems even more impressive, because you are all collectively sharing that event together. , that really isn't true for a movie, unless youre seeing an indie movie that's in like 15 or less theaters.

You can find the per theater opening average. Eighth Grade and Isle of Dogs are 1 and 2, Infinity War and BP are 3 and 4 this year. Big box office movies tend to drop off in this metric tho, once Oscar movie season rolls around (TLJ was 15th last year, and the number one big box office movie, with numbers between IW and BP)

Plus I assume Sports teams pick attendance to obfuscate the amount they are boning people in prices a bit. We are all aware of how much movie theaters bone us, so we want to see what movie did it best.

The problem is it all gets a bit muddled too with how much difference in the prices cinemas charge per ticket.

Here we have a half price Tuesday. So they don't charge as much there. I know my local cinema has a Gold Lounge with premium seats popcorn included and the tickets are double. Different prices for seniors / kids. Plus 3D showings cost a little more.

And that's just in the one place, other cinemas, country town or older ones with one screen would charge different.

And all that for the same film.
