few sites reporting rumors that microsoft is gonna unveil xbox all access next month, US-only for now
'Xbox All Access' looks like a new subscription service with Xbox Live, Game Pass, and a console

$22/mo for 2 years ($528 total) for an xbox one S, $35/mo ($840) for an xbox one X. Includes gamepass and gold and a console. Price wise works out decent, a X would be $500 + 200 (GP) + $120 (gold) or $820 for an X, paying $20 more for microsoft to finance you is generous especially if you spend $0 on buying new games.

not sure what it means for a new console, it would make sense to wait at LEAST 2 years to release a new console then since you don't want customers 1 year from now pissed off that their 1 year old console is deprecated

Unless they did the phone thing and let you trade up in hardware. I don't think this will have much impact on the release schedule of new hardware and it will have it's own such program. Could even see that rumored lightweight streaming console being free and you just on the hook for a couple years of service.

The few KB+M players on console will be matched with the majority of the PC players, but that also means the few PC players that play with controllers will be matched with the majority of console players.

Kinda, but with services discounted and included in the price of your device. I wonder what the churn rate is for these services, probably relatively low for anyone subscribed longer than a month or two.

How's Games with Gold work for new users? We miss out on all the previous months of games, and just get the new stuff? Also, this was pretty funny I thought, from the article:

Except that it isn't free. Getting something in return for a membership fee that you lose if you stop paying is the exact opposite of free. Still a nice grab all things considered.

It's "free" because in a few days the base game is useless without spending another $40 on Forsaken (and you probably still need the first two expansions as well, that's another $20).

Edit: For those who really do want to see for themselves what Destiny 2 is like, it's actually up on PS+ already. If they'd waited for the normal schedule it wouldn't have been available until after Forsaken had already unlocked. Don't believe the Add to Cart page though, only the standard edition is free and the two bundles will charge you $59.99 if you try to buy them even though they say "Free" too right now.

Not Knocking this (Yet) but this assumes full price on both services and full price on a console without games (Or sales)

So lets add this up for real:

Xbox One X for 487 free shipping on Amazon.
Xbox Live Gold (When goes on sale - Buy 2 one year cards) $36.99 X 2 (I have seen lower but let's use this) 73.98
Xbox Gamepass - (Various deals here - But lets say buy 9 get 12 which I have seen. Spronk you may have seen better) 89.91 * 2 = $179.82

So that would be $740.80 for those that wait for the deals (Which come and go regularly) Or $840 and change for the monthly all access.

So about $100 dollars to finance.
